View Full Version : Shifting into 1st Gear rough - after clutch replacement

i bleed the clutch line and changed the slave cylinder.
how come on mine and my friends 240, after stepping down on the clutch pedal, i would have to wait a few seconds before i can go into first gear.
i feels like i have to wait a few seconds after depressing the clutch petal before i can get it into gear.
maybe you're cluth master isn't adjusted right

u mean my clutch master cylinder isn't adjusted right?
how do you do that?

Read up on double clutching. If that doesn't help then your clutch may not be releasing all the way. If that's the case it will have problems in all gears, but 1st will be the most difficult since it has the largest difference in gear ratio.

i have to wait to put into 1st gear when leaving my driveway.
i'm not even on the road yet.
why is that?

jack up the rear
ebrake off
start car
put in 1st
clutch pedal down
check to see if the rear wheels move

what needs to be done if the wheels move.
what needs to be fixed?
also, what step of troubleshooting should i take if the wheels don't move at all?
i just wanna know so i don't keep coming on the computer while fixing my car.
i've got 2 s13's to cure.
