okay well i looked at the new toyota front calipers on the tacomas, and i saw they are on the new FJ cruiser and wow they look a whole lot like 4 piston 300zx brakes..just an observation but perhaps they will bolt on 240sx? if anyone has a new toyota truck and z32 calipers let us all know. perhaps some pictures of the new toyota calipers?

Why try and reinvent the wheel when Z32 brakes are plentiful and relatively cheap to begin with?

i wasnt trying to. i know that the toyota brakes will most likely be a whole bunch more expensive than z32 brakes but i was just saying. that would be weird if toyota is using old nissan technology in their new cars.

it's not exclusively nissan. plenty of cars have 4 piston cals.

i know plenty of cars have 4 piston calipers, check these out though..they look really similar to z32 calipers.it looks like they made a cast of the z32 ones without the nissan going across it. i wish i had a picture perhaps ill snap one if i see an 06 toyota truck and have my camera

Well, first off, it's not "nissan technology", it's sumitomo technology. Even if they were the same it's nothing new, Subaru 2.5 RS had basically the same calipers as Z32 many many years ago........

dude exterior appearance means absolutley nothing in terms of caliper fitment. there is no way it would bolt to a nissan spindle (truck hub =/= passenger car hub) and the chances that the rotors are the same thickness is next to nill

bottom line - useless thread

Exactly. Calsonic makes all the A/C parts for most Japanese cars, and a lot of it looks similiar too. So do Hitachi distributors for a lot of cars, doesn't mean they're the same or that they're copied from another make/model.

and by 2.5 RS obviously you meant the GC8 chassis WRX in japan since the RS was only released in the US =]

these 4 piston toyota calipers are used VERY frequently within the datsun Z world. i think the most worthwhile brake upgrade for the money would be a 300zx upgrade but if the toyota calipers are available it can be done.
