is it common knowledge that turbo z32 wheels don't fit the front of a s14?

i traded a friend my stock SE for his turbo z32 wheels (on his s13) and the front rubbed on my megan coilovers. tires are 225/55/16 i think...

threw on a 10mm spacer, and still rubbed a bit...

i searched and couldn't find, so i'm assuming this was a bit of info that i might have "missed".

will these wheels fit the front of my car with a narrower tire? or do i need to run extended studs and a 15mm+ spacer?

did you try loosening the strut mount bolts to change the camber a lil' till you get bigger spacers.

lol changing camber has nothing to do with inboard wheel clearance

Unless you are speaking of the rear. Or if you are retarded.

Also, is it rubbing the spring/collars or simply rubbing right on the uprights? If its rubbign the spring/collar, thought bout raising the damn car?

or depending on what or where youre rubbing, you could try getting the right aspect ratio for your tires...youre sidewall is 5% more than it should be so youre a little taller than stock diameter...

so people do run lowered cars with z32 turbo wheels without spacers on the front of a s14 without rubbing??

I'm running a 4 Z32 Twin Turbo rear wheels (16x8.5") on all around without rubbing on my S14. This is because I have 225s on the 16x8.5" and with stock suspension. Once I put the 245s on all four with coilovers, I think I will need atleast some 15mm spacers to clear in the front.

Edit: When I had the Z32 TT front wheels (16x7.5) with the 225s in the front, I had to use 7-8mm Pepboy spacers for clearance.

or if you adjust camber via a sledgehammer on the strut tube

Alrite... I have another newbie question... regarding my wheels and lugnuts...

So I need a 21mm deep socket to tighten/loosen my lugnuts... So i bought one of these... http://s7.sears.com/is/image/Sears/00944447000

now with that, I was able to connect it to a torque wrench and tighten my lugnuts. Now i'm trying to loosen my lugnuts/take off my wheels and I don't know how to since that deep socket doesn't have the 6point end that would fit on the cross wrench I have.

I went to sears and looked for a 21mm double sided deep socket .. like this one.. http://s7.sears.com/is/image/Sears/00943327000

but they don't have them...

how do I take off my lugnuts?? (please don't rip me a new asshole)

Use a breaker bar on the socket to loosen the nuts.

loosen the nut with the car on the floor.

Use an impact gun.

place the socket on the lug nuts, and, while holding the socket in place, slowly rotate the car counterclockwise around the socket.

^~~~ +1.

Breaker bar is anything long and tubular. Helps with anything over tightened. *a

This is how you do it:

From experiance: With a long enough breaker bar, you can break anything. definition of break may vary.

I put Z32 (16 x 7.5 +45) on the front of my S13 tonight mounted on Hankook RSII 225/55 tires. Using a 10mm spacer it barely clears my JIC FLT1s, and I mean barely. There is maybe 2mm of inbound strut clearance. To be safe, I would go with a 15-20mm spacer or perhaps a 215/55 tire on the wheels would work. But, to make it closer to being flush a 25mm bolt on spacer would be even better.

Ill be picking up a pair of Ichiba 20mm spacers next week. Im running Nismo 60mm extended studs so should be fine. BTW... for those that don't know Attain hubs use 14.3mm knurl studs (same as S14 front). That'll hold me over until my Gram Light 57Max arrive.

To the origonal poster: Why are you going through so much trouble to fit those atrotious looking/sized wheels?

94cc0rd
07-13-2006, 02:38 AM
ehh i like how the wheels look but the sizes, as i have realized, aren't for me.. they aren't that crazy compared to some of the wheels other zilvians are running.

so some change will be happening some time in the near future..
