Alright, after numerous hours of searching multiple forums for the infamous "hot cam" swap (248/248), I came up with some other questions that were foggy in my searching.
-First: I read that for the 97-98 S14 motors, you have to press the rear oil plug in the cams further in to stop oil from squirting everywhere. I'm working with what the guy told me to be a '95 S14 motor when I bought it from him 2 years back. Would I have to do that?

Second: Theres two ways to do this swap correctly, you can either have a machine shop move the key in the exhaust cam thats going on the intake side, or you can move the cam/cam gear 4 TEETH COUNTER CLOCKWISE from the timing mark on the chain. The exhaust side will still align with the normal timing dot on the chain. That way, no valves will be open yet. Correct?

I'm still thinking of what other questions I had. Its late and I'm brain dead. Again, its a S14 KA engine.

If you have the rearmost cam towers in the head, it's a 95-96. If not (and there's no provisions for them) it's a 97-98.

Yes, 4 teeth.
