Damn, a friend of mine broke his arm like that 8 years ago skateboarding and had to get a titanium plate inserted an screwed into the bone that is with him for life, it left a huge nasty scar down his forearm too. How did you break it?

dude, i feel for you.

I broke my ulna and dislocated my radius because of a snowboarding accident a few years ago. I had to get surgery and they put a 6in metal plate with 6 screws in my arm. i know its hard to see but here's a pic.

edit: i don't have an x-ray but here's what it would look like. the plate and screws are shown in black. the blue arrows show where the break and dislocation occurred. I had to wear a splint for 6 months. I had to learn to write and put my clothes on with my left hand for a long time. after i got the splint off, it took an additional 3 months to return to normal not to mention that my tendons on my right arm are now shorter, preventing my from straightening my fingers all the way. (not to frighten you or anything)

dang.. did the doctors mention mal-nurished bones or anything? It usually takes a LOT of constant force to break a bone like that, or a defect in the bone....


OOOH. I KNOW you were in serious pain! I've broken my leg like that but i got hit by a car when it happened. As funny as it sounds, I at least had the adrenaline of being nailed by a car to keep SOME of the pain away, where you were just chillin....when.....SNAP!

WOOOOOOT!!! well almost, yep its me guys the breakage guy, the guy youve been seeing with a broken arm and a red fastback everywhere, its been 2 months since ive broken my arm and Ive healed up greatly, I can ALMOST completely drive stick, just cant get it into 5th yet =P or lift anything etc etc but i have a lot of movement from my arm which is great, from doctors point of view i should be good as new in 2 months and good enuff to lift normal things in 1 month, super sweet!!! Ill post pics of my updated xrays so u can see the uber healage!

Oh.....good thing you may not need surgery. Rehab from surgeries are a pain in the butt. I broke my right knee cap and end up having two surgeries.

The end results: one large scar across my knee, twenty or so smaller scars, deformed knee cap because of calcium overgrowth, and I can walk into any recuiters office for any branch of the military and have my application refused. (Including the Coast Guard)

my brother broke his leg on his motorcycle on the 5th of august, femur tib and fib breaking bones sucks man, ive never broken anything and i feel like its impossible but daym...i need to go back to the gym and get muscle to protect my bones again haha im getting weak, byut its good to hear your driving stick again.
