Hey Everybody,
I've read all of the posts on 240sx.org, and I know how to do all of the painting stuff, but is there anything I should watch out for (gasket, bolts, etc.) that you guys have found to be problematic in this process? I just live by Murphy's Law. Thanks in advance.

pick a color that does not lok gay and matches the car, or will match the car. Try and make this your only color change and pick a color you can live with for life. Something like black would be nice.
IMO don't get chrome, and if you are gonna use red or black don't lie and say you have an SR.
Sorry i didn't really give u any technical things to watch out for.

When toy paint the valve the valve cover make sure that you wait until the cover is cool. Then sand and make sure everything is smooth. But as far as the gasket goes make sure there is no tears in the gasket and if not get some ultra grey or black rtv silicone. But make sure that is is meant to go on a valvre cover.Just read the back of the package and see what it says. Then just put the silicone where the bumps are in the gasket there are two in the front and two in the rearline the silicone on the cover its self whee the gasket will go and on the engine area where the gasket sits and you will be ok.

Yeah, I've got the color picked out.
KiDyNomiTe: I'm gonna do it black and then sand the raised letters. I've got some red accents (STB, Oil Cap, Wires) so I thought that it would be a nice backdrop without goin' overboard. As far as passing it off as a blacktop SR, I'd have to then back it up...
BEISSEN: Thanks for the gasket maintenance info.
I'll put up some pics of the engine bay soon if anybody is interested (Not like you all don't have one of your own). But I'm a glutton for punishment.
