umm, take the belt off ur ps n drive with it, if u like it then sure. if u dont then yes life will suck. depends on the person usually. some people dont mind it, some people want ps. depends on what kind of person u r.

get stronger arms and you'll be fine.

driving without power steering isnt THAT bad, its just not as nice as driving with PS

No. No power steering for drifting is gay balls.

drifting without PS is basically worthless

its like drifting on open diff, its always going to be inferior so why bother

Y deal with it? Just get a car with PS or if you get one without hook it up.

For day to day driving it is not THAT bad. Just need to put a little effurt when backing out or going real slow in parking lots. Just put some power to it or start moving and it is pretty easy.

Buf or drifting or any type of driving like that, y try to "get used to it". Just get ps from the get go. Y do people make things harder then they are?

who you telling...

Ive busted 3 pumps, and 1 rack... had to drift 3 events without it... pretty much waste of time... for wide fast action youll be aight, but for tight 2nd gear...your fucked

than when you get ps...its like starting all over again..

driving without power steering can be nice once your rolling . It sucks balls at really low speed though because you really have to put your muscle into. Try a u turn with it and you will see what I mean.
Drifting? Power steering is a must. I used to drift 240z's without power steering. It was higher speed shit. 60-70 and up situations where there was enough inertia going that the it did not matter. Though for all out ease of use for drifting, retain your power steering.

It was the opposite for me,

Highspeed stuff was impossible, it would go to the lock and there was nothing I was gonna do to stop it or turn it more than 10%. couldn't react fast enough at all.

Low speed stuff I could somewhat kinda hoss around.

I made the mistake of trying to catch one of the 60ish mph entrys with my thumb. hurt for a week.

power steering is the best thing to happen to Cars (imo) but its not bad for daily driving, in fact after a while u get use to it. I use to daily drive my stock Steelies and it was cake, but once i got the 17x9 rims...it was down hill from there, i ended up gettin my PS asap after that.

My powersteering deleted itself a little over a year ago.

I have done autocross, rallycross, and drift events with and without powersteering, as well as daily driving.

The only place I missed having powersteering was at a drift day. I just wasn't able to make the steering adjustments quickly enough at low speeds against the direction of pavement. Its fine for low grip rally stuff, and its better for smooth inputs at autocross or the track. But it sucks for high grip and quick sliding inputs.

On a related note: Has anyone successfully bypassed the powersteering pump on the DOHC motor? I have tried maybe 5 different sizes of belt, and I still can't find the perfect length to fit over the crank pulley and water pump.
