I know PA has been talking about using the CA smog laws for automobiles....kinda sucks because its pretty easy going now

Yeah, but you gotta think about the financial aspect of it. Oklahoma did away with their budget for vehicle inspections. And I really don't think they are going to pass a law to increase taxes just for that.

I hope they do do this, then you'll all feel as opressed as us CA people. Of course, they probably wont be so strict on enforcement like they are here.

This only applies to the small engine market....it will be a while before the rule applies to passenger vehicles. Its a start, but I think targeting the big transport trailers would yield much better results....correct me if i'm wrong...but I think they are exempt from smog laws.

Might?!? More like will, they've been planning on implementing CA style emission laws throughout the whole US. Within the next 3-5 years, it will be likely that every state will have emission testing like CA.

its about time they did this. no reason to have 1 state so regulated while the rest just crap all over our environment.

I already deal with it. It only sucks for a few month. Have to wait till the smog people figure out how to cheat the system, then after that a new smog technique will roll out. Dyno smog.. ha.. easy as cake for some smog tech.

I doubt it's gonna happen. Smog machines go for ~$35k+. A lot of low volume shops wouldn't be able to finance it. And a lot of other states charge less than $20 to get their car tested.
