Great! This is exactly what I was hoping to hear! So far I've been really impressed with his prompt replies to my price quote requests.

The people at jspec tend to be assholes from what i know and some of my friends ordering from them i e-mailed them to see if they had a sticker and they e-mailed me back and said that i wasnt worth the time to even look to see if they had it if that was all i wanted to buy and that i was a cheap ass and prolly couldnt afford the thing anyways but perhaps i just had an asshole in customer service

Sam is good people, even if he dosen't have what you want for sale at the moment. He will find it for you and give you a fair price.
I have ordered a gang of stuff from him.

Don't overhype their business though. They might be good people, but for instance, a "certain part from japan" can be sold to me from Jspec.com at about 300 dollars. Another store, also a good importer, can get the same part to me for literally a hundred dollars less. And for some reason, they take forever to respond to emails... at least thats the experience I've had with them.
I'm not trying to dis the company, but just because someone says that X company is great doesn't mean you shouldn't look at other companies too. ... just my take.

What is your point? Did you read his question? He asked for people's opinions on Jspec.com.....and that is what we are giving him. Where as you seem to have no motivation other than boosting your post count. Either post some thing worth while, say an actual experience, specific example, ect..... Or don't post at all. Saying that someone, somewhere can get some random part to you cheaper than Sam, is totaly useless information.

Okay then, I'll just say it, jesus.
KGMM S21 Superspot springs for S14. Manufacturer price is about 189 dollars (converted from yen).
jspec.com said 350 bucks, while shinestreet.com said 240.
Now shuddap and stop being such a baby.

Look at you, getting all bent. LMAO!
You got quoted a lower price else where. Big deal . The question was not "is Jspec.com less expensive than every every other shop in the whole world?". Sam usually dosn't charge much over his cost. He also includes shipping in his price quote. Something to think about. No one is going to be cheaper on everythig all the time. That's not the point.
As far as taking forever to get back to email. I have found them to be very prompt. Save the times when Sam was, in Japan. The main page stated that he was, in Japan and would not reply to e-mail untill he returned, from Japan
I still don't see how any one was "over-hyping" Jspec.com
MrMigs
06-18-2002, 09:36 AM
Well, I was talking to (i guess sam) when he was back from japan, and it was taking forever to get replies from him. I would send an email, and he'd get back to me a week later, saying "I dont understand what you mean." I'm sitting there, saying "fucking damnit! I wish he could have told me this earlier" because after I clear up the confusion from the last email, it's going to take another week to get his reply. He gets a price.... tells me a week later... get's irritating after a while.
Oh, by "Dont overhype them" I meant that you should try not to overhype them, not necessarily saying that you were. That was my fault, BUT overhyping DOES happen. I overhyped jspec.com too. At least, I used to.
The point I'm trying to make is that sure, jspec.com is a good company (at least from some people's points of view) -- that is, they seem to be reliable importers, i guess. But from what I've noticed, at least from where I'm from (not necessarily from this board), whenever someone talks about getting parts from Japan, they say, "Oh shit man, get it from jspec.com, they're the bomb!" -- mainly stuff like that.
I get the impression that people are starting to turn to them for ALL their importing needs, and they seem to be forgetting the fact that there are other, equally reliable, if not better companies who import parts too.
So there... you don't see how people are over-hyping jspec.com because you're not over here. I'm not talking about people overhyping them through this board. Instead, I'm talking about people like my friends, along with a buttload of car tuners in my town who overhype the company like free pork rines... mmm... free pork rines..

I know how the whole "band wagon" thing goes. It dose get a bit old, be it for or against.
In fairness Sam is only one guy, so I don't expect an instant response to my email. Like I say the biggest benifit about Jspec.com is the fact that he can usually get just about anything you ask for. And he was getting it for me and other enthusiasts back before parts for the 240, sr ect were easy to find. But he never gouged people even when there was little or no competition. Probably the cause for so many people being loyal to him. Even still he can get stuff many other shops don't or can't get. That to me is worth a few extra bucks and a bit of a wait.

Some people over at club4ag have had varying experiences with Jspec... i think the thread got deleted over there before I got to read it. For some people it took forever to get their parts...while others it did not take long at all

Two red thumbs, eh?
Yes, Kid, I'm posting for the sole purpose of increasing the amount of total posts on my account!! Time for a third star/wheel/whatever thingie near my name! haha
Aaaaaanyways (muaha more post count) I wish jspec.com could have given me a phone number or something. That way, I could bug Sam every day!
"Where's my springs? Where's my springs?" I would say.. muahaha.
With this email communication turd, I would send Sam (sam?) a question, and by the time he gives me an answer, I would forget what the hell I was asking! It would be cooler if he could include previous threads in his replies, so customers can trace their conversations a little bit easier.
...sorry, but I couldn't say this is any way without sounding like a biotch. There's probably a good reason why they don't include a company phone number on their website (unless i'm missing it)... speaking of which, I wonder what the reason is. Not enough employees maybe? Forget to pay the telephone bill?

What is w/ people and freakin' stickers. I would have gone off on you too if you wasted my time asking for a sticker. Well, I really appreciate all the replies. I'm comfortable paying slightly more to buy parts from a company that takes care of it's customers and is honest/reliable/upfront. By no means have I stopped looking at my options (so I appreciate the other website suggestions that have been sent me).
I plan on buying these items next week... I'll let everyone know what I decide.
Thanks again,

Ill give my thoughts bout this as well. To me I never dealted wid same yet but i will soon when i get my 240sx to transfer it to a 180sx. But from what i see from his site he has alll the stuff i need and want for my future car. THe shops around here isnt shiet its HONDA HONDA HONDA.. I SAY SCREW HONDA. Cuz it makes me sick seeing honda civics now, i jus cant not wait til i get my 180sx conversion done wid a sr20 swap imma rape those damn cars for good and shut them down. I own a honda now but its slow and sluggish. I even driven a del sol wid a type-r engine it was okie but still fast but i jus want something to obliterate and leave them in awe when i stop at the next stop lights. Asking how the fawk i beat them. I know everyone in here hates honda am i rhye or not? Later that was my 1.50 of how i feel
