I was watching some show earlier about ghost hunters and it made me think back about 3-4 years ago when I had ghost problems.

I would be laying in my bed at night trying to sleep with my door shut and all lights off when I start hearing my TV make a clicking sound every once in a while like static electricity or something. At first I thought nothing of it but after a while Id start seeing lights out of the corner of my eye! Nothing crazy just a ball of white light that would flash by up near my closet.

At this point I thought I was seeing things since I didnt get a direct look but I sat and watched in one spot where the light appeared most often and sure enough I got a direct look at it a few times... My room was completely closed off from any light being able to get in from outside.

So I get out of my room and just sleep on my couch since it was just too weird for me.

Well this is where it gets REALLY weird.
The next night im laying in my bed thinking everything will be fine when I start seeing that damn ball of light again. I just figure its just light and it cant do shit.... after a while though my bed starts shaking! Im thinking im probably shaking my leg or something but I laid perfectly still and I could feel the bed start shaking even more rapidly. Thats when I jumped outta bed and got the hell outta there:ugh:

I gave it about a week before I could sleep in my bed again and ever since then I havent had my bed shake again. I did however see the light again but it went away after a while.

My aunt also has some pics she took at a family reunion for my uncles funeral. When uploaded them to her computer though they all came out with smiley orb faces everywhere... they looked like see-thru moons all over with crooked smiley faces. They think its my uncle sending a message that hes happy.:fruit:

Both of these cases are very similar to other ghost stories Ive heard with things shaking and orbs of light.

Crazy stuff.

I think you either beleive in that stuff or you don't.

I personally do, beleive in it allthough I don't think I've experienced anything myself.

I just watched a show on http://www.prairieghosts.com/waverly_tb.html it scared the ish outt me. I want to go there and experience something like that.

I didnt really believe in ghosts or care much about shows on ghosts before since I didnt think Id ever see one or come in contact with one.
Now there is no doubt in my mind they exist.

I left out part of my story though...

I remember on maybe 2 of the nights I was seeing the light that I would get a very cold tingly feeling out of nowhere even though I was under my thick comforter.

I later found out from watching some of those ghost hunter shows that many people get that same feeling when coming in contact with a ghost.

That shit really freaked me out.

There were some other things that happened in that time frame like me being the only one in my house yet it sounded like someone was walking around upstairs. So Id run upstairs really fast and there would be no one there.

The thing that would probably kill me just cuz of how scary itd be would have to be if I looked in a mirror after washing my face and saw a ghost in the reflection but when I turn around... nothing.
I actually prolly cry like a lil girl

I've had two encounters that I'll talk about, but they really freaked me out.
One was at the Queen Mary, yeah really original I know, and the other was at work.

Queen Mary:
I was in the chartroom behind the bridge, just checking stuff out. It was really hot and humid, but suddenly it got really cold in the room. Something gave a firm tug on my shoulder, and I thought "wtf" and turned around. no one was there, I was the only person in the room. Then the temperature returned to normal, and I saw a plaque on the wall talking about a ghost encounter that was very similar to what had just happened to me. really creeped out I quickly left the bridge.

Work: I had to go in the warehouse for something, and the air got cold. Then the lights started flickering for a second and I looked up. Up on the top rack (about 40ft off the ground) there was a dude standing next to some wheel boxes. I blinked, and he dissappeared, and the lights returned to normal.
As it turns out, the same month I started working there, an electrician was electrocuted installing some milling machines next to that rack....:ugh:

There's a third, but it was just hearing noises from a haunted apartment. One of my friends actually stayed in it and the backstory is just too freaky to tell...

I'm a skeptic til I experienced it myself.

It was 10yrs ago though that there was rumor that there's something that "moves things around".

Mom showed me that he left her wallet in her drawer so when I get hungry I can just grab some money and get something to eat.

I was finihsing this HUGE rug(school project). I had to clear living room center table so I can use the space to finsh my rug. I got hungry after 3 hrs., so I went to grab some cash....no wallet. Went to the drawer...not there....looked everywhere....not there.

I gave up and went back to working on my rug. After a few mins later, I was going to try to find the wallet again, when I put down my work, the wallet is sitting in front of me. I went to my cousins house accross the streeet after that incident.

We also have small hand prints every once in a while appear on a mirror even though we dont have small kids in the house.

My brother used to own an appartment just north of Chicago, and he was never told by the real estate agent that it was a distressed property - the previous owner killed himself in the unit. Since my brother was a truck driver, and always on the road, he would sometimes ask me to stop by and do the laundry for him. I brought the clean laundry into the apartment, dumped it on the floor into a neat pile, and began folding. There was a bunch of beer in the fridge, and eventually i had to pee really bad so i made my way to the bathroom.

After relieving myself, i went back to the neat pile i made, and it looked like someone ran at it full speed, and kicked it so the clothes were scattered all over the floor. As i looked around the apartment in confusion, to see if my brother or his girlfriend walked in and were messing with me, the windows in the living room began trembling. I bolted for the door, called my brother - he was being unloaded in Chicago, and his girlfiend was with her parents. No one else had the keys to the apartment, and i always triple check the door when i leave.

He soon sold the apartment because his bedroom window would fog into the shape of a human head and torso. Since then i have had a pretty serious phobia, and occasionally suffer panic attacks. I still believe there is no such thing as ghosts, and there must be a rational explanation for what happened - i hope. Also, if you are wondering, a real estate agent is not required to disclose if a property is distressed, so before buying property, check archived news articles online, at a local library, or call the city hall.

az_240 did you consult an optometrist about the white flashes you were experiencing?

It _can_ be a symptom of Posterior vitreous detachment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posterior_vitreous_detachment) or Retinal detachment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retinal_detachment)

My wife is an Agent and technially your right they do not have to tell you. BUT if you ask them, "Has anyone been killed, died, etc here" and they know about it they HAVE to tell you. Now if they have no idea and you ask them and you find out later, and say you want to sue (which is retarded), you would have to be able to prove that the agent knew.

So bottom line is you should ask. I was very paranoid when we bought our first house. We bought he house from the original person who built it. He did die and we even asked the children if either parent died in the house and they neither did. But I still think about it frequently.

Friend of mine and I were on our way back from a club one night late and got to talking in the car and he told me about his uncle that had been immobilized by arthritis and could no longer move around the house by himself so he was talking to the family at a gathering about how if he was to die he'll let them all know if ghosts are real because he'll finally get to walk up stairs on his own.

Turns out not too long after he had died from a severe stroke and the night of the wake when everyone got home they saw the lights upstairs were turned on when the rest of the house was dark before they left and there were footsteps right above the living room and they heard the door to thier bedroom close. When everyone started getting weirded out his wife said "oh well you know, its probably just my James walking around"

That shit weirded me out

yes ghosts are real, I've encountered them a couple times. They were two little children playing in my apartment. You can hear them stomping up and down on the floor, jumping on the bed (while I'm laying there) and opening and closing the doors. It is as if they were playing tag. After these events I slept over a friends house a couple of days. When I went back I was too scared to sleep there so basically I moved out to my gf's house and all is well now =)

I just got a new 2 BR house that I'll be moving into by myself. I been there at night alone to take a shower and it has a good vibe. Its creepy since all the rooms are empty but I think its chill. Stil, I wonder :ugh:

It would be cool to make friends with the ghosts and pull pranks on people like in "The Frighteners." But you know they're gonna be watchin when ur doin ur girlfriend; probably wackin it, too. jerks:madfawk:

If you were to ask me if I believe in this stuff in person, I'd say no.

But I have had a few experiences.

Off the top of my head:

A friend of mine got sideswiped by a semi-truck a couple of years ago on the 14 freeway near Santa Clarita and died at the scene. A couple of weeks later I was driving on that same stretch of the freeway and my radio got very staticky right as I passed the spot where he died. In between the static I could hear my friend say, "It's okay, it's all the same. I'm okay now." Then as soon as I got past the area the radio went back to normal.

Another one:

My grandmother passed away a few years ago but I hadn't spoken to that side of the family in a long time. I thought I saw her in my bedroom that night, and found out the next morning that she had died.

My wife's grandmother passed away a few months ago and when we visit her family we now stay in her (the grandmother's) old bedroom in her parents' house. She actually passed away in this bedroom, but we haven't seen or heard anything strange.

EDIT: Oops, forgot one more. When I was like 12 I went to get up from a chair I was sitting in at my grandmother's house and something (or someone, whatever) pushed me back into the chair HARD. I couldn't move my arms for a few seconds, like someone was holding them down. When I looked up I saw a shadow move across the room, even though I was the only one home. My aunt and grandparents (all of them lived at the house) used to talk about the shadows and other weird stuff, but that was my only experience there.

I dunno why you guys are saying wierd. Its pretty damn SCARY to me. I had no personal expierence, but my brothers girlfriend can see them.

Theres this school by my house and my bro, his gf, and me were in the car. We were passing by the school and shes kinda gasped, and she was sweating like crazy. Then she told my brother to drive faster. I was already freaked out cause the way she was acting. When we got to my house she was like, "When we passed by the school, there was a girl starring at me. She was sitting on the steps in and just stared at us as we passed by." Yeah that kinda set if off for me. She says that ghost are kinda everywhere. When her sister was going to buy a house, she stopped by with them before they made their final bid. She said just by the look and how she felt when she entered the house that it was occupied by spirits.

In other news, I've heard from many people that the first reaction you get from a house will stay that way. If you are buying a house and you feel kinda creeped out or eerie, dont get it. Chances are you get that feeling for a reason.

For me it's hard to believe in. I mean everything has to have a reason right? But I also believe in God, and there is no real proof of that is there? We believe what we want, all the rest of it, is just denial.

Wow thats gotta scare the shit out of you being 12 and all. The two little ghost kids messing with me only happened last year. I was 23 at that time and still I'm afraid of that apartment and ghosts whenever I hear them.

no it was nothing like that. The light would zoom across my ceiling or wall... At first I thought it was a reflection from headlights passing by or something since Id always see it out of the corner of my eye... Thats when I sealed off my door and my windows to make sure no other light could get in and I was WIDE awake so this wasnt like I was dreaming.
I got a good look at the light a few times and it looks EXACTLY like what youd see on those ghost hunter shows when they enter a room with their cameras theyll see a ball of light zoom then dissapear.

Also after my uncle died my grandfather swears he saw my uncle sitting in the chair he normally sits in. Then when he went to turn on the light to get a better look he was gone.
I remember I had to sleep in the basement of that house too right after that happened:ugh: didnt get much sleep that night

interesting stories guys. So far i only have a few experiences.

one time when i was 13 i used to live in a house that my parents rented, and from the first day we moved in i never had a good feeling about it. But I remember one night i was on the computer really late at night and i heard something in the living room which was literally across the hall. I looked out my door and could hear small paced footsteps i turned around to the monitor and said to myself "itll go away" but i felt something standing right behind me (just as if a real person was just standing right behind me). then i soon felt the feeling dissapear, and i straight up went to bed after that.

Also when my older brother used to live in that house with us, he said he would sometimes feel somebody walking behind him when he would walk down the hall. One time he said he even turned around and said "stop following me" and after that it rarely happened.

In the house i live in now, my friend slept over about a year ago, I was sleeping downstairs and he knocked out upstairs in my room. But he woke up during the middle of the night and he heard the bedroom door open. When he looked up he said he saw a white pale hand open the door enough just to see from the wrist. He got freaked out and closed his eyes and didnt open them until he fell asleep. I dont know why but ever since my grandma died my friends always tell me my house is really quiet and feels comfortable. Someone told my friend that the reason he probably had that experience in my room because whatever IT was knew it wasnt me sleeping in my room and wanted to know who was instead of me since he was the only one in there. So im guessing it might be my grandma chillen in my house.

i remember when my 2 friends passed away in a reallly bad car accident on the freeway. like a week later, i would drive on the freeway to get to where ever i'm going.....passing by where they crashed, and this is when my s15 conversion came out i'm guessing like a month fresh. never had any problem with the lights. while driving by my lights start to trip out on me, it started flickering! and once i'm out of the vacinity, it stops flickering. i don't know what to say about it.

also back in my early hs days, my friend and i were cruising with a bunch of girls at night. we passed by this huge victorian house. right when we passed by everyone in the car was freaking out. the girls were like "did you guys see that!?!?!??" i said i saw a old lady just looking at us. and they said the same thing. and that's when everyone started trippin out, yelling and stuff. so i was okay everyone clam the fuck down. then i told my friend to drive back and check out the house. we drove by and we didn't see shit. scared the shit out of me that night.

Has anyone ever heard about that "ghost" on "3 men and a ladie" movie.

That got sooo overated with a "ghost" that I myself started beliving in ghosts.

My grandparents house is built over an old Pilgrim cemetary along with most of the houses on that same street. Everyone always talks about thier experiences with the afterlife. But i'm glad i've never seen anything. I would be scarred for life.

I had a clear memory that my grandmom took me out for a nice walk in a pretty white hall way and brought me a nice toy from a toy shop. I could see her face and feel her hand vividly even now, after more than 20 years. When i was talking about it with my parents, they said she past away one year before i was born. they are positive i never meet her in person but i swear the person i saw just as same as my grandmom's picture.

Cool thread. When I was a little kid, I lived in a haunted house. We had an above ground pool that would somehow fill up with animal bones. I would hear voices at night calling out for me to help them and giving me directions on how to find them, but there was never anyone there. I had a seizure one time that was really freaky. It was like an out of body experience. I was aware of what was going on, but had no control of my body. My parents rushed me to the doctor. He said there was no way I could have had a seizure, since all my vitals and stuff were normal. I think it was a possession. It never happened again after we moved out. I believe that ghosts can only be percieved by children, animals, and loved ones. Either the ghosts don't want to be revealed to people who may somehow harm them, or adults are just too sceptical to believe in them. I'm not sure if I really believe in them now, because its very easy to dismiss my experiences as just a little kid's wild imagination. Since ghosts are just energy, there is never any physical proof of their existence. When we die our energy (soul) makes a transition to some other state (choose your religeon). Its possible theat in rare cases, people have the willpower to make their energy remain here after their body has died: unfinished business, revenge, or just pure love for the survivors whom they have left. BTW did NE1 watch the WB series "Supernatural"? That was a very cool show. Bad ass car and great music.

Were you sleeping at the time? Dr drew talks about these on Loveline, they are some type of sleep disorder. I have had three or so before, but only at my old house in Bellflower. I would wake up and I couldnt move, and I could feel tons of pressure on me...my only thoughts were hey Im going to fall off the bed, wake up...etc...Freaky shat. Its some type of seizure/sleeping disorder.

I never had a personal ghost encounter but my gf has had some recent ones.

Her dad died less than a year ago to cancer. It was kinda sudden and really sad, as you can imagine. After he died she can sometimes hear someone walking around downstairs (her room is upstairs) when there is no one home. One time a friend of the family came by the house to get all of her dad's clothes since he wasn't around to use them anymore. After the guy left with all the stuff something strange happened...There is a little memorial in the corner of her dining room that has a vase pushed all the way in the corner with some pictures of her dad and her uncle (he died recently too of a heart attack) leaning on the vase. When the guy left my gf and her mom heard a thump. They went upstairs and saw that the vase behind the pictures was on the ground. There is no physical way that the vase could be on the ground or fall off of the table without taking out the pictures, candles and other stuff with it. Someone would have to pick it straight up and drop it on the floor to not move everything else. <spooky>

Sometimes her dog barks at the memorial pictures for no reason and just recently her mom was lying in bed and she felt someone breathing on her neck. Its no big deal cuz its just dad hanging around the house but it is still creepy to know he died but he's still in the house. Funny how we know the answers to almost everything in life but the one question we can't answer is the oldest one, "What happens to us when we die?"

i had it bad one time. I was at my grandmas house for vacation and my grandfather died about a 1 year before in the house. I was sitting in his favorite chair in the house watching TV and no one else was home. Where i was sitting i had a view of this mirror in the hallway. So im watching TV and then i for some reason glance at the mirror and there is my Grandpa standing there. It was like he was really there but it was all in grey. I ran out of the house and walked down the street until my parents came home.

Theres also this other time. Since im in Hawaii we have very heavy spirits. This one time my friends and i were drinking and kicking back in Waipio Valley(A huge Valley where millions of hawaiians were killed from a storm).Theres these things called night marchers which i believe these were. So were sitting there having a good time and then all of our lights and radio die. Even the car dies which was playing the radio. We hear some rustling in the bushes so we all freak out and just go down to the waters edge to get out of the woods. Then we started to see reflections of eyes in the bushes from the moonlight. they were head high so they werent animals. All of a sudden they just dissappeared and all the power came back on. We packed up all our shit as fast we could and left at like 2 in the morning. That was the scariest thing i have ever been through.

at that moment I probably would have started crying like a lil girl:cry:

There is another time when I lived in Colorado Springs (about 10 years ago) I was sitting at the top of some stairs that led into the basement and to the right was my room.

Well I was sitting there watching the X files on TV when I look down into the dark basement for some reason and see a large grey man-looking object come out of my room and walk into the basement. My eyes immediately filled with tears I remember thinking it was a ghost... but im not so sure since I did not get a good look and after looking at the TV for a while maybe it was just my eyes trying to adjust.
I still slept on the couch that night

This shit is creeping me out haha.... im sitting here in my house all by myself

My horrible story that causes my sleepless night till today.
*The first night I was sleeping when someone whispered in my ear my name, so I jumped up and now one was there.
*Second night, I woke up and looked at the clock, 4:27am and could fall back asleep.
*Third night, I heard what sounded like foot steps or high heels walking around really loud and looked at the clock, 4:27am.
*Fourth night, I heard this swishing underwater sound( I swear to you guys right now the temperature just dropped and I don't feel alone but I must continue) and it was 4:27.
*Fifth night, spent the night at my GF's dorm and both of us woke up at 4:27 because it was so cold and my girlfriend(catholic) started to pray but something wouldn't let her pray, she couldn't until I started to with her and everything became normal.
*Sixth night, someone whispered really load in my ear, "David"(my name) so I flip over to check the time, 4:27am!!!! And it said again "David" so I look up(it was black in the room) and I saw this figure darker than black and it said "David David DAVID DAVI DA DA DA DA" and said my name so fast again and again it sound like "du du du"(but super fast), and I went to yell my dads name and I felt this pressure on my lungs and this thing grab my body. The Couch cushions went flying in the air as I was immobile until I started praying and it stopped.

To this day(4 months later) I still feel it next to me at night as it tries to get my attention but it will always immediately stop when I start to pray.

Yea. Wow, crazy stories.

My turn. So my dad passed away recently, his HundredDay service will be coming up soon. About a week or so after his departure, some awkward things have happened. We have candles lit up for my father, and they start flickering. While sleeping in the living room, i heard some tinkering with the water-fountain. Like, the sound of someone tryin to fill a cup of water, but not having enough strength to do so. It kept going on for a while, and im thinking to myself, "Dang... dang dang dang..." Then it stops. I hear the sound of a cup being put down on the counter. and everything is silent again. it went on for a few days. On the Third day, i wised up, and set a cup of water on my fathers' alter in the living room, and things stopped.

Second Encounter. I ws sleeping in the room, but my insomnia kicked in. Tossing and turning, all that jive. suddenly, i feel a spirit in the room. i broke into a sweat, and heart went flying. I felt the hands of a man press down on my chest, and my body freezes. I try to gasp for words, but nothing comes out. At this point, im about to faint from all this, when my sister sleep-talks and says "just say sorry then." And as soon as that happened, the pressure was gone, and the spirit felt as if it ws leaving our room.

Third encounter. I was sleeping in the room i share with my sisters, as our setup gave my bro, chlatboy his own room, my dad his own, and me and teh sisters in the master. one night, when the girls were sleeping, i hear slow-paced walking, how my father walked. It sounded like he walked over to the girls' bed, stood for a while, and made his way to mine. My heart was racing like heck. I start thinking to myself how sorry i was that i didn't live up to his expectations, and how i admit to being not the best of sons, and ask for his forgiveness. I heard an his signature grunt of approval (cambodians know this sound, it sounds like "Umm").

Things have since returned to normal. I'm a avid believer in spirits, and won't do anything to bring disgrace to any. jeebus!

This is a hardcore ghost site explaining what these encounters could be.

If you ever find yourself being attacked by a demon or see a dark shadow-like figure it seems the best thing to do is PRAY.

My ex gf had an experience where she would see a dark figure in her doorway some nights. She said as soon as she started praying the figure went away.

i had it bad one time.

That was the scariest thing i have ever been through.

wow i remember when i stayed in hawaii for 3 months. and there's like this one road that is very long. it's like in the middle of no where. it's near waienae. i think that's how you spell it. but my cousin's told me that if you drive alone without pork???? a lady in white will stop you and ask for a ride. i think that's how it goes. but i really do remember them telling me about night marchers. scared the shit out of me that was when i was like 12 years old. hawaii is a crazy place at night. spirits are no joke there. anyway, this topic is cool. keep bringin in them stories.

Yea, I was in bed when I had the seizure. I was also in bed when I heard the voices. It was probably the sleep disorder you described. I'm glad that shit never happens to me anymore.

I read sumthing about that. basically wat happens is when ur exhaustion or stress becomes overwelming that it affects ur sleeping patterns which causes ur body to behave in weird ways. You wake up suddenly but it feels like ur being locked down to ur bed. at this point to put it clear and simple is, ur your mind is awake and functioning properly but ur body isnt. its still technically "asleep." its weird supposedly people get those when they are really exhausted, tired and stressed. umm.. and i think it was called scissor locked?

Our next door neighbor just killed himself about 2 weeks ago with a shotgun (which is kinda weird since we didnt hear anything and his body was in his garage for about 4 days until his brother called).

Anyhoo, 3 nights ago i was searching zilvia.net then I kept hearing someone try to open my basement door (you know... that door handle sound). I looked, nobody there. So I close it making sure its locked. 10 minutes later the freaking door blows open (slowly).

My brother was talking to his gf underneath the front porch and he came back in about an hour later and said he keep seeing someone peek around the corner of our neighbors house but when he'd turn to look and the shape would dissappear. When he turned to look, he'd notice the light of the house is on (which is understandable since the brother of the nieghbor would leave it on to deter robbers since he lived far away and couldnt watch the house at night). However my brother noticed within an hour span that he'd check and sometimes the light is off and sometimes its on. He asked his gf and she said, nope you told me the light was off. This freaked him out and he came in the house and ended his conversation.

However, we haven't seen anything abnormal lately.

This story sucked, but i have a bunch of messed up stories about the Philipines which i dont really like to discuss. :goyou:

My brother had a mild case of this. His was brought about by excessive anxiety. The doctor didn't prescribe anything for him, but he was told to go to bed earlier and to maintain more of a consistent sleeping habit.

The symptoms are exactly what you described. It's as if your mind is 100% awake but your body doesn't respond to anything you tell it to do.

I remember this one time I was sleeping over this girl lacey's house with my ex girlfriend, she had warned us about ghosts in the house. My ex girl woke me up real early and told me she was going downstairs but i fell back asleep. A little while later I woke up suddenly and saw a little girl standing in the doorway in like a white dress, I said hi to her and her smiling and then passing back out. When I woke up later I went downstairs and asked them where the little girl went and they were all completely confused and there was no little girl there....kinda mild story i guess but it freaked me the hell out

I've been having wierd things happen at my apartment lately, mainly, the doors to my bedroom or the bathroom can be securely latched and locked, and they'll open slowly. This is kinda inconvientent when actually using the bathroom. One time, my g'f of at the time was inside my bedroom, and I was in the hallway. The door wasn't locked, but it was latched. It came open about 8" and then quickly shut. we both saw it happen, and she thought it was me, but it wasn't. There wasn't any breeze. Jack (my cat) will make wierd clicking noises at these doors sometimes, and lately he's been doing it much more often, and at more locations around the house. He'll hang out with me in my room, and when he does, it doesn't happen as often.
What's really wierd is saturday I caught my toe on the shower door and really tore it up and bled alot. This morning, I was in the bathroom and Jack was there too. He started staring at the shower and really freaking out, big eyes, ears back everything. Then he did the strangest thing. He stood up on his hind legs (not squatting, but on tip toe) straight up, with his front legs pointed down and arched his head forward so he was standing like a T-rex. And stayed that way for almost ten seconds. He then made that wierd clicking noise, and sat back down.
Something I forgot to mention. When I first moved into the apartment, the toilet was backed up. When the roto-rooter guys came it took them forever to get the toilet unclogged, but when they did, they found out the reason for the clog: large broken bones of unknown origin were stuck in the pipes.:ugh:

Seeing that story about the 4:27am thing, my family and I had experienced some weird things at 5:50am awhile back.

When my dad's dad (my grandpa, duh) passed away, exactly a week later (in Chinese tradition I guess?) when it was supposed to be the "return of the ghost" day, at exactly 5:55am, our smoke detector by my parents' hallway went off for no reason. Just went off. No smoke in the house or anything.

Then I think it was the next day or a few days later after that, I had to pee so I got up and walked to the bathroom. By the bathroom door we put a night light there so I could see where I'm going if I had to go to the bathroom. Well, the light's usually that orangish color cause it's a regular shitty halogen bulb, but I thought I saw that light as being green for some reason. When I got done I looked at it again, still green, and then looked at the clock by my bed and it was around 5:55am.

Then a few days later, the stupid smoke detector came back on at around 5:55am.

So we took the batteries out just to see if it would do it again. Yup. A few days later, it went off, with no batteries in it... :ugh:

This was a few years ago.

Back when I was like 6 or 7 I had a really freaky incident with my parents.

We were still in Hong Kong then, and we were over at my uncle's apartment like usual every weekend. They would play marjong and I would hang out with my cousins and play video games or whatever. They lived on the 22nd floor, so we'd have to take an elevator to get there.

So when we left, we got into this one elevator, and pressed "G" for ground floor, and the doors closed.

Then it started going up. 23rd floor, 24th floor, etc. Well, the top floor is the 28th floor ok, nothing above that... well, the elevator went all the way up to like 33rd floor, as indicated by the little LED panel on the top of the doors, and the whole time we have the feeling of the elevator going up.

Then it stopped, and it started going down again.

Except it didn't just go straight down, it went down a few floors, then went up a few floors, and then finally when it started going down the last time, the LED that indicated the floors went nuts. It didn't display numbers, just random jibberish lit up, like the Predator's arm panel when he went to arm the bomb.

Then after what felt like being trapped inside an insane elevator for 10 minutes, it finally stopped and the LED displayed the number "2" and the door opened.

Yup, it was the 2nd floor alright, but it didn't matter to us as my parents and I got out of that elevator as fast as we could, and just walked a little further to get home that night.

Shit freaked me out, big time...

its called sleep paralysis. i used to get it back when i was having a bad time of life. drugs and stuff, etc.

you are in a state where you are half sleep and half awake. as a result, you will hear and see things very easily. anything that you hear will be magnified 10x. a shower dripping in the bathroom downstairs sounded like someone was beating the floor with a bat. interestingly enough, i could hear my mom's conversation when she was downstairs, way out of earshot. i even recalled what they were talking about after i snapped out of it.

i also thought i heard footsteps up the stairs, and i saw dark figures standing around me or harassing me.

once i realized it was all hallucinations, i stopped seeing stuff.

yup anxiety and depression can also affect sleeping patterns. i remember a friend of mine would have several of these so-called sleep paralysis during the night because of how his father had treated his mother and because his father was a drunkard and did nothing but hurt the family.

My first house i started to have memories of was filled with ghosts:

I remember when i was very small,i was 6 at the time. I was sleeping next to my sister and i woke up in the middle of the night and asked her if she could get me a glass of water. So she goes to the kitchen but her room goes through my parents room and she knew that my mom and dad was sleeping. when she got to the kitchen, She saw my dad over by the living room watching TV without anything on (fuzz, no signal screen) and he looked through my sister and he had the bright red eyes! i forgot the term when a ghost replicates a real person.

This incident always happens to me before i go to bed with my parents when i was 6-7. I would see a huge 3 ft wide tarantula on the wall and yell at my parents that it was there and after i look back and check, the tarantula would dissapear. i didnt notice that it was a ghost until 5 years back until i saw a documentary about animal ghosts.

My brother, cousin and i were playing through the backyard and little i know that it was almost dinner time so i told my brother to call my cousin. She was sitting in a corner looking through my brother with a fiery look and she wouldnt respond to my brother. So my dad comes home and we told her that she wouldnt move and she was yelling in another language. so my dad already knew that she was posessed. He came back to work and got his employees to hold her so the exorcist lady can do the ceremony for her. we got her laying down the floor with literally 4 guys on each arm and leg. She was screaming and cussing out weird stuff to everyone while the ceremony was going on and after it was all done she didnt even know what happened. all she knew that she fell asleep in a deep hole and couldnt come back out.

There was a lot of incidents happen at this house, when my parents would tell me that there was a lady dressed in white and she would walk around the house around midnight and look over me through my parents window.

Still freaks me out until today!!

Herb

Choi Hung Station (i dun quite believe)
this station is unique, they have 3 parallel rail, some people say its a rail linking to the repair station underneath Kowloon Bay, but some say its a rail linkin to hell becoz they have staff got killed during the test run...

Wow, I don't remember that station, at all.

I rarely go to the Kowloon/main land side, usually stayed on HK island, and if anything we'd go to Kowloon or Mong Kwok and that's about it.

That is kinda creepy though. The platform that is sealed and has no cable and no rail.

All the stories I've heard (since I was 10 when we immigrated to the US, I don't remember too many of them) had to do with people jumping down onto the rail when the train comes and they die and what not.

I've heard some stories about the "Ching Shuai Wan" highway and how it's haunted and stuff cause so many people haul ass there and lose control of their cars and drive right off the cliff and die.

That platform is creepy. This is what I found by searching answers.com:

The platforms of the original Rumsey station, originally planned as the southern terminus of East Kowloon Line, still remain in Sheung Wan station. They are located near Exit E, and they are perpendicular to the Island Line platforms below.

At present time, the Rumsey Station platforms are incomplete platforms. They have a length of about three MTR EMUs (while normal trains have eight each), do not have tracks and overhead power lines, and with all the tunnel entrances sealed with bricks. It is widely believed that these are the most mysterious platforms in Hong Kong, with many people wondering what the Rumsey Street platforms are doing in Sheung Wan station. The abandoned platforms give people a haunted feeling, somewhat augmented by the constant "dong" noise emitted from the escalators, a guidance signal for the blind people.

I just looked it up, Sheung Wan is the last station on the Hong Kong line if you were heading west.

a few days after my dad died when i was 10..i was home alone doing hw in the living room..
all of a sudden..i hear heavy work boots walking heavily through the hallway.. exactly the way my dad used to do everyday about that time..
i was really freaked out..

for a more recent one..
i was running the canyon at Turnbull canyon in whittier/hacienda heights..and i ran into a cop. Scared out boned out the other way and hid in a residential and turned the car around to face this long white wall running parallel to the main road.

Bored..my friend and i were sitting there for about 30 minutes before a late model accord shined its lights on that wall. Then, i saw a silhouette of a little girl running across the street being projected on the wall..at 3am in the morning..

another time..we were sitting by our cars in the middle of the canyon in complete darkness.. staring off into the distance, i see a shawdowy figure walk towards us a short distance away..i run to my friends to tell them, but when we all look the figure was gone..

that canyon is definitely haunted..there are lots and lots of stories of bad shit going on up there..ill try to find the threadsomewhere.. im not sure if its here on zilvia..

holy god i dont think i've ever been so scared in my life.

i went back up there with my girlfriend and she was starting to get uncomfortable breathing cuz of the altitude and she has asthma. so i said "im going up to the house again" so i went in to the gate and i turned to her and said "go get the car... and dont have an asthma attack hehehe" well... i turn around (keep in mind i had camera phone in one hand and knife in the other) and BOOM! theres a friggen guy standing in the window looking strait at me. my heart started going 10000 bpm... and i looked at him, said "god forgive me, keep me safe" flicked the blade of my knife out and took the picture. we stared down for a good 10 seconds, then after i had flicked the knife he freaked (in a bad way) and got all pissed off. he ran into the other room of the house for god knows what and i friggen BOOKED IT out of there. i got 2 pictures, and one of them has him in it.

NO JOKE BE VERY CAREFULL!!! dont do what i did, travel in a group... dont go alone or just with your girlfriend. be armed.

i have never seen her bark so much, this was around 10 pm.

then around 1 am i heard something shatter. i walked to my kitchen because that's usually wher eall the glass in the house is. i walked in, everything was ok so i turned off the light and turned around and there was a dark blob that moved and dissappeared. at first i thought it was just the light flash that remains after looking at something bright. so i turned on the kitchen light to see what was there. the glass cover on my light fixture in the hallway fell 15 feet and shattered all over the hallway. now... i got to think ... what was TALL enough to get to that? and also ... why would something held by 4 screws all of a sudden fall? ... after that ... i couldn't sleep so i played cs till i came to work...

ugh... i hate this..

we had a night of sober fun last weekend (we're usually drunk off our asses) and we ended up telling ghost stories..it was f*cken freaky.

I'm Filipino, so I'm sure alot of the Filipinos on here have heard of the "white lady" phenomenon and the vampire stories in the Philippines.

Does the white lady story have to do with the Japanese occupation?

The Philippines is messed up. My grandma told me a story of some man chasing her through the woods and he kept getting bigger and bigger. Then she fell and looked back and he was gone. I've heard a shitload of stories. God-damn... im getting goosebumps as i type...

in the mesa dormitory, we all saw this lady ghost dressed in white slowwwwwly walk past the door. i literaly almost shat my pants.

yea they have vampires in the philippines too.. theyre supposed to be able to separate their torso from their lower body, and the torso walks around on its hands and kills people..

i dont know what makes me so interested in this stuff. ive just basically read this entire thread including the one santacrusing posted a little earlier. well on to my story, i was watching tv, national geographic, i love watching national geographic channels. to much interesting stuff, got into researching some old history, and came across ghoststuff, interesting stories of what alot of people have experienced. so i finally got over reading alot of interesting junk, went out driving or something. a few days later, i went to a friends house to just hang out. a friend wanted to go home, said he had to wake up early the next day around 7 or so, it was around 1 or 2 in the morning, so i told him im feeling kind of tired, ill go too, so we could cruise together. as we were walking out of my friends house, i was looking up at the sky, and then i came across a black figure on top of a roof staring to its left, next door to my friends condo. i stood for like 3 secounds staring at it, and said "WTF IS THAT" and then i stared at my friend and told him to look up there, and it was gone. at first i thought it was one of those ventilation things, that spins and brings the hot air out of the attic, but i took at good look around and saw nothing, i was so freaked out about the incident, had such a freaky drive back home being all paranoid. so i thought back about it and thought that reading and watching that stuff on ghost couldve influenced to me to see what i saw that night, but damn it scared the shit out of me when i saw it

who knows? if you see it, you SEE IT! shit happens. some crazy broad i know said that you can be schizophrenic. maybe true. but when she told me.....i gave her the "WTF?" look.

anyway, i remember one, not really spooky. but i swear i seen it. me and a bunch of my friends rented out a cabin in reno, everyone was sleeping drunk their asses off. me? i couldn't sleep. i was trying to sleep. and we have this upstairs bedroom place. kind of like a balcony, but you can see the downstairs living room. now from the top, you see the living room, to the slidingdoor that leads to the balcony. again while i was trying to sleep, i change positions to face the balcony, and what do i see. a old white man glowing, not hella bright or anything. he just fuckin walked through the sliding door. i'm like, WOW. try not to freak out, and wake up the others. so the next day, i thought about it...was i asleep or awake? pretty sure it wasn't a dream. i told my friends after that, they thought i was bullshiting. but i was like whatever, some girls freaked out. now the last night there. THIS IS PRETTY FUCKIN WEIRD, near the sliding door there's a fireplace(and that's where i saw the ghost). i'd put the impreza keys there on top of the fireplace. i literally told my friend diana, "I AM GOING TO LEAVE THE KEYS HERE, OKAY? YOU SEE ME PUT IT HERE RIGHT?" she said yeah. i repeated it twice to make sure. i told her because i don't want to be responsible for losing it. last day there, everyone was looking for it. and they fuckin blamed me for it. i wanted to kick one of my friends ass cuz he kept rubbin it in my face. but my friend diana was the only one backin me up, because she seen me tell her, and put it there. and no one touched the keys at all. everyone searched the whole damn cabin all their belongings more than twice. so they had to drive all the way back to the east bay. and i was in reno for another fuckin day, had to get a hotel. watched volcano high on mtv. it was alright. i don't know if the incidents that happened in the cabin were related but now that i think about it...i might be. who knows? as long as i'm back in the bay.

I'm one of the more skeptical people I know, especially when it comes to shit like this. But last night something was going on.

I was laying in bed trying to sleep, and something started pressing down on me. Every couple of seconds I could feel something putting weight on me, not like a cat or anything, more like the weight of another person, at one point I could not even move. When I closed my eyes, I could clearly make out a face, that I saw whenever i would close them, even after opening them briefly. It wasnt that details, but im possitive it was a face. A few seconds later, I clearly heard a voice say ''no'' right into my ear. It was repeated maybe 3 times in the next 20 seconds. This whole time I could feel the weight I mentioned being applied. I forget how long after the voice everything stopped, I kinda lost track being that fucking scared.

You guys have some nice storys but I think mine blows all of these away.I dont know if you guys ever watch Sci-Fi channel, but my house is wicked hounted. We had the people from TAPS, the roto router guys who also search for ghost and paranormal abnormalities. Well we had them inspect out house and they gave us the "ok" to say our house is not right. I know some are going to be like why wasnt it on TV then, well because we dont want our house on TV,:)....But anywho heres what has gone down.

1. My mother died when I was 6 and ever since then I have always felt that she was watching over me. Well one night I was up later around 230am, and decided it was time to go to bed. So I laid down and fell alseep. Well I woke up at about 3:15am because my bed shook like someone had sat on my bed. Well I look over and dont see anything but I can see that my bed is depressed, like someone is sitting there. so I turn on the light and as soon as I look back after the light is on my bed is fine. Im about 75% freakin out. So I sleep on the couch.
The next night around 8:30pm I decieded to get a shower. I like hot showers so i crank the heat up. Im taking my shower the bathroom is all steamy, but I get really really cold for a few seconds, I thought that someone was using the kitchen sink. Well everything goes back to normal I get dressed and before I walk out of the bathroom I looked at the mirror and written on the mirror are the words "I Love You", So i go down stairs ands ee if anyone was in the bathroom when I was. No one was home....Aftre that incident nothing happened for a few monthes...then out of no where I get home late from Philly(Breaking Benjamin concert) I come home and go to my room and low and behold sitting on my bed in the same spot as that first night is a soft white/grey silloutte of my mother. This time i felt all warm and cozy. I woke up the next morning but dont remeber anything after I opened my door to my room and feeling all warm and cozy.

There were also other incidents, light turning on and off, weird sounds, footsteps. But those that I said above were the most crazy things I have ever seen and or felt in my life.
