Does anyone have leather on their s14? I just wanted to know how durable it is. Fade resistance? Cracking?

TIA,
-Al

Fresh Alloy Link (http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=27;t=000643)

I hope that worked. Anyway, the guy mentions that "only the seating surfaces are leather, and the sies and back are vinyl." And he ends with, "Of course the leather's gone now." Might wanna email him to ask if he swapped from leather to cloth, or if the leather cracked and peeled off his '98 s14a.

The leather doesn't seem to hold up to well. The sides of my drivers seat (mostly the side near the left) is all cracked and messed up. Just wear from driving every day. Passanger seat and rear are fine cauz nobody ever sits in them. And the drivers seat is fine except on the inner sides...the part that holds you in during hard cornering.

yup, first thing to go bad on leather seats usually is the side bolsters...

That reply on freshalloy was me.

I had the leather replaced with cloth & the seats custom reshaped instead of buying aftermarket sports seats. There were a few marks on the driver's seat after 30,000 miles, but I would have changed it no matter what condition it was in.

Thanks, that question was me

I like those cloth seats. I think I am just going to get some s14 seats for my s13 leathers. I can't find leather at junkyards and I really hate getting a sweaty back with the a/c on full blast.
Anyone know if s14 seats bolt right up to s13 seat rails? Are they any higher?

Oh, would s14 back sats fit into an s13
I would have to swap it all out, or it would look really wierd.

Jeff the S14 fronts are a direct bolt-in replacement for the S13. The S14 rear requires a lot of modification to fit in the S13. I've seen at least one post outlining what a guy did. I think it was on freshalloy.

I hear what you're saying about the leather being hot. It also doesn't hold you in place well. I disliked those seats from the day I brought the car home.

I read all the posts about the trouble fitting in aftermarket seats & losing headroom and opted to customize the stock seats instead.
