Ok so heres the deal? When ever my car is rollin slow i get this weird scraping noise from the back rotors or so i think. When i apply the brakes it intesifies the sound. I don't know what it is, i imagine it is the brakes but they seem to be fine. what else could be scraping back there. also when i am going in reverse theres a humming sound and sometimes something sounds to be scraping REALLY loud. do you guys know what this could be?

Sometimes there's debri on the pads. Try giving a firm stomp on the brakes, and let go before it locks up.

Have you inspected the pads?

3 things come to mind.
1) There is contamination on the pads/rotors. couple heat cycles should get rid of it.
2) Rotor is out of true. The sound constant or whirring?
3)Parking brake is out of alignment. ether the adjuster or the caliper is out of spec. if it's the adjuster it's should go away after a while.

The thing I hope it's not is the caliper sezing up. I had one do it already and I think there was a video of one on here. The rear brake calipers are not that great of a design.

loud high pitcted metal on metal scraping

low pad wear indicator. time for new pads.

I heard what to me sounded like a rock in the rear caliper for a couple of weeks, when I got around to pulling them apart the inside pad was gone and what I heard was metal to rotor contact.

its a big metal thing that is touching your rotor. it doesn't discriminate between backing up or moving foward.

get off the forum, jack up the car and take off your wheel. take a look at your pads. that will tell you real quick if that is the problem. it takes about 3 minutes to check.

woah man chill i appriciate the help, but you have to realize that not everyone has instant acess to means of lifting a car and taking wheels off. i'll take some shit off and let you guys know what i think.
and there are 2 different noises i believe when i first bought the car it sometimes made that loud noise while backing up NEVER has done it moving forward, the noise when i am movie forward is much quiter and sounds slightly different

You don't have a jack? There should be a jack and a lug wrench in your trunk.

I had almost the same problem, except when I reversed I got a loud grind/pop noise. The pads were worn diagonally from one corner of the pad to the other all the way down to the metal on the lowest worn down point. I did a caliper rebuild on the back (just the rubber seal). And I replaced the pads.
