Anyone have concepts of cars they want either produced or to see gleaming under the lights of Geneva Auto Show?
Post up your sketches, line drawings, renderings, or paintings, whatever you have.
I know Yuri and i do this more than most people, but sohcbat and a few others sketch cars too!
Ok, i'll start off with some recent stuff.
This is a quick ideation for a Ferrari. i call it Cavalo Scuro b/c its just supposed to be mean, raw and untamed. its not a full blown project, just something i sketch to keep my mind off the VW Surf Bus i'm doing for class.

I'll tell you want is still in concept stages and what is more set in stone, that way you guys can give me feedback and hopefully i can make some cool changes based on your opinions. but don't get offended if i don't.
What do you think of Cavallo Scuro?
caballo obscuro? O_o

Cool stuff Lindsay!
I don't like this one, but I did it a few years ago. Not technically a concept, but it was a rendering for a truck that was supposed to get built but never did. I need to make more time to draw since I've gotten better.

Whoa... getting tired. Just spent the night with a friend at school doing some style searching. I used to have a very artistic and painterly style to my photoshop renderings. But recently, I took a class where i learned a lot of new things, but i lost that quality in some of my digital sketch renderings.
So... changed the design of the Cavallo Scuro a bit. I like it MUCH better. The first one (red one) was so typical. This one is a little more new, all around better imho.

Mike.. that truck is DUMPED. Hahaha rad. I think i probably saw your shit in Lowrider mag back in the day, huh? You ever think about contacting Foose or something. I got his card around somewhere. Do some work for him! I think it would totally fit in.

Haha, I had a few renderings in different magazines, but I don't think this one ever made it that far.
Foose is actually the person who got me into wanting to do trans. design after I saw his senior project at Art Center way back. From what he told me a couple of years ago, he only hires Art Center graduates. I went to Otis. haha Oh well.
I think I'm going to break out the Prismas this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration Linds... :)

Scholarships. When I applied for night classes at Art Center I submitted a portfolio for a Ford Scholarship. Got my classes paid for, plus some dough for supplies from the student store.

team slideshow, your proportionas are pretty good, design is pretty good too, and the volume actually reads as 3D nicely too. But that one side of the car is so tweaked, it ruins it. It looks like the Porsche (right?) has -45 deg. of camber and a molded in BN Sports super-flare bodykit thing.
I would try to fix this by overlaying an existing drawing that has correct perspective (any one of my Ferrari sketches) or even a photograph if you need to (of a real life car). This wil get you in the habit of knowing where your major and minor axis are for the wheel elipses, and once you set those up, it will not look so cambered in.
Let me know if that made sense. Post up what you got going if you have any questions.
Also, i think everyone should check out www.cardesignnews.com or www.carbodydesign.com

I like it... The glasswork looks a little too much like a duck bill in the front for my tastes but it definetly captures an italia elegance... I Think ur strongest aspect is the setting u put your sketches infront of... If i could do BGs like that id have 100 BGs just scanned and ready for reference. Wanna make a zip pack and send me some, and ill give u all the design feedback u want =)
