Wow, haven't been here in a LOOOOONG time. Anyways, been missing in action due to school and lots of side projects, aside from 2 dead 240s.
So yeah, my side project is a computer game I am working on with a friend. I need some reactions from the video. Sorry if the resolution of the video is small and everything, but it kinda gives you an idea of the action and gameplay elements. Kinda mixes street fighter, side scrolling action, rpg, and elaborate special moves.

its our first game and it will be cheap, so I need you guys to answer a few q's too.
1. Does it make you want to TRY it out?
2. How much do you think you would pay for it based on what you see?
3. Any additional reactions???
Thanks. feedback greatly appreciated.
Ugh, hope this isn't going to get me banned, just looking for feedback from forum members.

yeah, just PC. it costs too much for us to buy the dev kits for the console systems. This way we can cut costs and make the games super cheap and enjoyable.

WOW Vince is back!
It's exciting to finally see what you've been working on this whole time.
I think the game looks great.
so
1. Yes I'd like to TRY/BUY this game.
2. How much I would pay? Probably around $20
3. The game looks pretty cool. I like the tricky combos, hopefully it's got a good storyline.

1. Yes, i would definitely want to try this out.
2.10-15 dollars max. If there is an improvment to the graphics and or backround + a deep story perhaps, then i would say 20-25.
3. Kind of reminds me of Maple Story. Good work can't wait till its done.

impressive, I love side-scrollers. looks like fun as long as it isn't too repetitive. ~$15

cool cool, good input so far.
The version in the video is an older build of the game. We have some changes in the current version, with more changes on the way(HUGE multi-sectioned bosses). Also not in the video are the RPG mode and the Record Theatre. Record theatre is where you can go to practice combos. You can then record how you play and then send the file to us or other game players to show them your combos. It basically records what buttons you press in what frame so the files are super small (less than a Megabyte) so makes it easy to give to friends. We're also planning on having combos for download and reward the top combo submission of the week or month or something with a prize. Yeah, lots of ideas and stuff for this little game.
yeah, the game has a combo system where if you are good enough, you can actually make an infinite combo. It plays very much like a fighting game in that you have to perform certain button pushes to pull off moves (down, down-forward, forward + attack) and have the timing down. Also there is the teleport technique to actually be able to knock an enemy back and the teleport to catch them and do it all over again. The possibility for combos is basically unlimited. Also there are quite a few other super moves that is not shown in the video.
You can also change the clothes of your character as you progress through the game and get different armors and stuff. Also your sword and weapons change as well. You can also choose to be a male or female so the game doesn't really discriminate to those that have a desire to venture into virtual cross-dressing. LOL.....
ummmm... other than that, theres a $#!tLoad more of stuff. and the price of the game will be VERY cheap. The downloadable copy we are aiming at the 10 dollar range, with plans of having a special edition package with a cd copy, game manual/artbook, and t-shirt package for around 20 bucks.
BUUUUUUUUUT we will see as we get farther along on this project. The game has a lot of cursing and lingo that is part of internet/chat/forum culture, so its pretty much a niche audience we are going for. Graphic style is basically this...
Final Fantasy (16-bit era) + 3-d backgrounds + Capcom vs SNK special effects + dragon ball z style supers.
Sooooo yeah..... ummm... and the video only has the Arcade version. Like I said, there's RPG mode, which you actually follow a story, and a Record Mode. So I think it's quite the bargain game from my point of view. If things go well, we are planning on something very nice for our next project. it's either gonna be a puzzle game or shooter(the top-down kind, not first-person). But anyways, a step at a time, more comments please!!! (^_^)
