no, f&f does not rule.  my point is this:  due to the exposure from the movie, mags are now spending MUCH more time on our 240's.  the aftermarket is starting to awaken. much as it did with the civic and integra a few years back.much more new products should be coming out.  i figure about 4 out of 5 new products will be cheaply made cosmetic or "performance" upgrades,  the 1 of 5 parts will be a good quality upgrade.  i do not wish to see a lot of shitty 240, but if dealing with a few junkers, means more true performance parts for me or any other 240 enthusiast, then i feel it is good.  i own a 240 and also own civic.  to upgrade the susp in the 240, i have a few options, for me civic, about 10x as many, sure 80% are junk, but it still leaves me with more quality options than we have now.    im sorry, but im just venting.  but i know EVERY person here has watched the movie and enjoyed at least ONE part.  though most people like to deny it. me, i feel the movie was inaccurate, still enjoyable though.   MOVIE=PUBLISCITY=BETTER PARTS for us enthusiasts, later all, be safe

i dunno... for the past few years 4 out of 5 car parts have been crap. &nbsp;CPU upgrades (cosmetic performance upgrades) have been around for a lot longer than F&F. &nbsp;

I remember when imports starting getting popular in the early nineties here in so cal, when everyone had a stock looking civic that had a kanji sticker on it...or those supra wings on everything

i wouldnt put all the blame on F&F, I'd put the blame on the aftermarket who's making this shiet, and the magazines who are advertising it. &nbsp; It's all about the $$$

Yeah dude, only part I liked about the movie was seeing Helen Cho's bad ass silvia!! &nbsp;Its actually a 95 with a 98 front end and a sr20det, one wicked motha fucka!! &nbsp;Tons of nice cars too!! &nbsp;It was a good comedy tho

I agree with you too, i have seen some ricer 240s once in awhile, but for the rest of us who appreciate the car for what it is, we'll get more manufacterer support in aftermarket parts. &nbsp;Besides, its not like you can walk into a Nissan dealership and pick up a brand new spankin 240, they're all in the hands of the guys who know what its for!

Yeah, I think I'm one of the only people on these boards that has said that I liked F&F. &nbsp;Sure, it was completely inaccurate on almost everything...but it's a movie, not a documentary. &nbsp;I liked the cars, I liked the women, what can I say? &nbsp;That was the first time that I've ever seen a car w/ vinyl stickers on it that actually looked good (I only liked them on the Eclipse and the Supra...everything else still looked like crap w/ stickers).

On that note, I have this to say...IMO, F&F did absolutely nothing for aftermarket. &nbsp;Tuning has always ALWAYS been around. &nbsp;F&F made more wannabes and certainly gave the scene much more negative publicity. &nbsp;Why is that though? &nbsp;Because the F&F brought out the immature rich kids who want to be just like Vin Diesel.

The only thing that movie did for us as far as parts is bring us one step closer to having altezzas.

I have seen NO new parts come out as a result of that movie that I would be caught dead with on my car.

The director who picked it up is John Singleton and guess who he cast as the lead............Tyresse. &nbsp;I hate that focker.

BTW the 240 in the first FnF did have an SR20DET and no that car does does not beat my car in real life.

actually, I don't think it helped our cars...or worsened the 240 scene...I doubt the s14 in the movie really changed anyones opinions...and I don't think there's any more parts coming out for our 240's because of the movie..

I think what started it was the whole drifting, japanese RWD thing...and a few magazines.

personally, I liked the movie. &nbsp;I don't think it's a good representation of the car scene...but it was cool to watch.

The Silvia S14 from the movie (w/ SR20DET) is in Super Street magazine March 2002 on page 94. &nbsp;The girls done some nice mods on it, and repainted it to Mercedes silver including a matching aluminum wing which works well i think.... There's also an S13 w/ an S15 front end conversion somewhere in there...
