As far as i know it's just the name (SUPER Hicas) is what i've known it to be called. My friends '89 doesn't even have the hicas light, therefore he doesn't have it. My 91 has the light, so i have it. But again, i think it's just the name that people call it.
EDIT: as far as installing hicas, it would probably be more effecient to just buy a 240 with hicas rather than screwing around with installing it.
I've driven my friends 240 without hicas and mine with... the differences are quite noticeable. I LOVE being able to take corners at 60km/hour and not have to worry about losing control. The 89 i drove just seemed a lot more loose and un-controllable.

There was a system simply called HICAS that was the predecessor to SuperHICAS... it was an entirely hydraulic/mechanical system. It was used in the R31 Skyline GTS and GTS-R, and I've been told some JDM CA18DET S13s and late Z31 Fairlady Z's had it.
SuperHICAS hit the scene a little later, first in the R32, then the Z32, and lastly the late S13. The only difference is SuperHICAS' electronic control.
If you really want it, buy a car that has it. If your car doesn't have it, it's not really worth swapping.
