I'm using firehawk slicks lol. 275/40/15 on a 7" rim :) Yes that is still with the fp big28. I'm can't get it to hold anymore than like 16psi above 4k rpm. I was told it will hold 22psi until redline so maybe if i figure that problem out and get it tuned I'll get mid to low 11's :hsdance: Haven't had it on the dyno yet though....still waiting to get my emanage installed and then dyno tuned. I'll post number as soon as I get them though.

Are you on the stock actuator? If so that'll definitely do it. Think about going to an external gate, it'd make it pretty fun. Keep it goin!

No, I'm using the HKS actuator with a turbo xs MBC (new style). I guess the actuator is only good for 15psi or so. Question...does the wastegate need to open completely? I could get more boost out of the actuator but it wont open completely. Not sure if I should try that or not.

guess i forgot to put that in my mods list

damn. that is good shit. I was thinking of going to that very turbo..so now I know. I would post mine...but it is slow. My best so far is 14.2...haha. pretty stock though. I have a video of it on my myspace...linked @ bottom.

nothing wrong with a 14.2 on a 2.0 4 cyl. still a quick car. you gotta start somewhere. I think that was about the same time i was running when my car was basically stock. Your car looks good and you got a clean swap!

Sorry for offtopicness but with FMIC, s13 redtop, and 3''downpipe/catback I ran consistent 14.2's on crapppppyyyyy allseason tires. Nothing bad there!

yeah...that seems to be the average time for a basic SR swapped 240.

06-23-2006, 10:58 AM
My best time is 12.7 on slicks on 10 psi stock motor with Blitz LM Front mount,Spec 3 clutch and flywheel and stock VSLD. Oh yeah completely gutted only a seat and a dash in the thing I guess that probably helps. :)

S13envy: to be digging into those 11s you have got to be pushing like 320whp... stock head gasket?

Jamesnutt: damn 12.7 is probably the best your gonna see on street stock SR. Not too shabby.

I'm thinking I'll gain another .3 or so which means time for a rolll cage :( (more money) i think the gt2871r is capable of more power so i dunnno

Okinawandrifter87
07-06-2006, 01:28 PM
GT2871R turbo is popular, 18 fast spooling psi = 325 WHP on a stock engine. 12 sec flat no problem. Can go up to 25-30 psi = close to 375-400 whp with cams, race gas, proper tuning.

s13envy
07-06-2006, 02:34 PM
I've changed my mind about using the emanage to tune. Instead I'm going with an enthalpy tuned ecu. a lot easier for me to deal with myself. hopefully gonna get it back out to the track here soon with a lil lower times :) I also picked up some wrinkle wall goodyear eagle dragway specials :-D we'll see what I can break with those bad boys

The only thing that is lightened is the back of the car. I've got all the trunk carpet and trim removed just because it looked like shit. No 2 step either...just launching around 6500rpm or so and quickly riding the clutch out (no dumping). I'll upload a vid here shortly

TheTimanator
08-26-2006, 09:20 AM
6500 rpm?!?! holy crap. If I launched from that rpm, no matter how I worked the clutch it would be toast. I feathered the clutch once and burnt it and couldn't run anymore that night. :(

Anyway my best run was:
R/T... .069
60'.... 2.209
330.. 5.997
1/8... [email protected]
1000' 11.708
1/4... [email protected]
Backed that up with a [email protected]
Also had a best r/t ever on another run of .006
can't remember exactly but I think I was launching around 3800-4k

Mods include:
-S13 blacktop SR20DET (w/red valve cover)
-clutch= Spec stage 2
-HKS FMIC
-Greddy airnx filter
-HKS EVC I
-Walbro fuel pump
-Greddy turbo extension
-RSR downpipe
-Blitz Realize TT
-Catco cat
-KTS coilovers
-205/55/16 BF Goodrich g-Force Sport

EDIT: forgot to mention I have a J30 VLSD and was running 13ish psi

Full interior minus trunk carpet and spare tire.

I have a lip but took it off b/c everytime I jack up the back of the car it the lip would just dig into the ground and I've been trying to get my bumper reinforement to fit around the fmic.

I'll have to look into the RPS clutch, hows the pedal feel?

i did a 12.2 @ 110 on 10psi 1.7 60

@ 10psi

whoa i dont know about that thats a big claim ma.

did you give your car the scc sawsaw treatmetn lol.

My old t28 setup in 02 netted me 13.0 with open diff ant 1.9 60.

I went to a log with a to4b and ran 12.2 in early 03

Then swithed to a diff log and 60-1 ran 12.4 haha 60-1 sucks for 4 cyl imo.

Then went to 62-1 sam mani pulled 11.8 out of her in late 03.

Ive run an uncountable number of diff turbos between those but i never actually tracked the car while they were on.

My favorite turbo of all was the 50 trim to4e/t3 .63 ar stage 5 turbine.

pm me for question on turbo sizing thats my whole obession lol.

good time for original poster btw.

sr20drifter

does it bog at about 6k?? Because i had a pinhole boost leak that caused me to bog at about 5500+ rpm's. Then it gradually got lower and lower until i bogged at anything other than a vacuum. I was too busy to pinpoint it until the hole got so big it was obvious lol so its posible yooou have a small boost leak

s13envy
10-02-2006, 06:53 AM
I found 2 small boost leaks and haven't been able to fix them yet....1 where the BOV flange screws onto the pipe and 1 where the BOV mounts onto the flange...I think the metal on the base of the BOV is wearing thing from being taken off and installed many times.

It does seem to hesitate around 6k on the track.

evny, great of you to keep us updated on your setup. Question: are you running just straight up running Enthalpys ROM tuned ECU without any other fuel controllers? And how much boost were you running with the FPB28 on the dyno?

I'm getting a FP Big28 myself after i run this drift event next month at Summit Point Raceway. On the long run, its going to be a similar setup to Envy's but for the mean time, its going to be FP Big28 on SAFC with OEM head gasket. I'm probably not even going to get a metal head gasket with this turbo unless it pops of course.

Drag radials man!!! I'm running the MT Street radial 235/60/15 at around 15psi. Street tires will just spin! I dont know why I'm hooking as good as I do since I run such a stiff suspension. For drag racing, you want the car to squat and the front to lift to transfer as much weight as possible onto the rear tires.

there are some random mods in there.....i just copied and pasted from a mods list i had compiled. I think this setup has a 130mph trap speed in it...only b/c last year i actually had to let off at the top end due to the car popping. Since then, I've added an ignition and will be adding more boost. We'll see though.

huh?

untuned?

I think at the time of that video, it still had a stock ecu, with an safc. So you can't really say it was tuned. SAFC is in no way real tuning. Since then I have gotten an enthalpy tuned ECU.
