some of you may remember my gloating about my track escapades with the ultra shady organization AARRF. also known as the alphabet group. click here (http://www.aarrf.com/events/results/best_lap_06082002.htm) to see the times. make fun of me for my stupid post, congradulate me, whatever, i just felt like posting.
note:
-the 240 right below me is SR+ other mods equipped
-the two VW's in front of me are supercharged, the faster one is a 1 lap of america car which won it's class i believe, look for him in a future issue of C&D
- the vette that was the fastest got 2nd overall in 1 lap of america iirc, pretty sure he won the GT2 class
-the integra in front of me was that punk kid with the turbo integra
-the type r in front of me is one of the reasons the car is up for sale
-the guy with the same time as me is my good friend. he drives race cars. his car is basically stock. he rules.
- the miata's below me are turbo's, why weren't they faster?
-the RX7's below us are 3rd gen's. how do they sleep at night?
-#333 Mercede's is sponsored......wtf?
-the two people at the bottom with the same last name were father and son with an E46 M3 and an S2k......could this be a result of inbreeding?

Danger - timed laps = no insurance coverage!! (the reason I won't do a time-trial until I can afford to throw away my car).
Otherwise, nice. But I guess if I used your ITR logic, I could say that I wouldn't want to own an FD b/c they are slower than a 240? Out of curiosity, why do some have 3 numbers and other have two? Is it instructor/other - doubtful; or are those people who asked for a number b/c they own a set? (note chasing down any car, especially a faster one, that has a "number" is likely to end in disappointment).
As for those Miaters, keep in mind that while they may have had plenty of power and handling, I could show you an 80 hp CRX that would take your lunch money. Driving counts! (not that I would expect less than stellar driving by the members of AARRF <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> ). **edit** I g0tz good gramer**

i have no idea why some people have the numbers they have. like i suggested before, this was the biggest bush league operation i've seen, many questions wen't unanswered such as.....
1) why can we only pass on the 50 yards AFTER the chicane instead of the 100+ yards before it?
2)why is there a chicane towards the end of the main straight?
"because people want a hard braking zone, and this gives them that"
that's funny, because i go through there at about 80mph, braking from about 98, whereas if it wasn't there, i'd have to slow to about 60mph for turn one from around 105mph. i guess the other drivers must be better than me and have more speed coming into the chicane huh?
the president of the org had no response for this.
tnord,
looks like you had a good time. Very good on the lap times, looks like you have about 3 seconds to find somewhere <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
Keep it up! Hopefully we can get together at a track sometime!

i'll tell you what happened to it......there was a 6'2'' 140lb albino 16 yr old driving it. him and his dad showed up in that and an 02M3, definitely one of the top 5 fastest cars there, and what happens? they get dead last.
I know this is kinda OT for this topic but the track in mention is where this all started so...
Hey travis...I've got an idea.
Sell your 240 and buy a miata for a daily driver/track car.
Then "spec" the miata once you've decided on a good daily car (and/or saved up the money) like ohh say a z32tt or a BMW <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> or you could get the 350z (they aren't much more than the 240's were new) <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
This way, you have a cool RWD daily driver and you can start getting used to the cars characteristics while you wait for a daily driver.
Like jay leno says "if your going to cheat, cheat up!"
meaning if your wife is cute and you have to cheat, sleep with a hot chick, not some dirty slut.
If your going to leave your 240 for a typeR, you are leaving your cute chick for a dirty slut. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sigh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Man those FD drivers should be ashamed of themselves. What was up with those drivers? First timers on the track?
Miatas make some great track cars. SCCA has a TON of groups for Miatas
