I get to pick it up next saturday.  My friend just bought a 99 CBR 600 so i decided he needs someone to ride with.  This is my first bike, so if anyone has any tips for me i'm listening.

Here's your first tip take the Katana back and get a GSX-R. j/k It's a good starter bike (my starter was a GSX also) and I loved it until I totaled it and got my GSX-r 600 and that was the baddest ride.  160mph (*est) no helment and shorts on....now that's a fucking rush

GSX-R's are a dime a dozen (total bandwagon), BUT, they are a great platform. i would keep the katana, or get a strict beginner bike, than after a year or so, sell it and buy a SuperHawk 1000...

The place sold there last used GSX-R the day before I got there or thats what i would have. &nbsp;I didn't want anything special with it being my first bike. &nbsp;I'll probably get a new one in a year or so.

Get the bike that Jay Leno has it runs on jet fuel and does a mesely 260 mph.
