i thought that they weren't even made! look towards the middle of the page for the pictures of the blue gtr, and you will notice that it IS left hand drive. In the pics you can see the end of the steering column poking out on the left side, AND both turbos are there!!!!!! i thoght that this wouldn't fit or something which was the general excuse that people were giving as to why a lhd version was never brought to america or something like that. please explain!!!!

Hmm i Knowit is possible to do a LHD conversion, but for some reason that doesn't look like the interior of an R33, unless if different years had different interiors.

that isn't the inside of a r33 GTR....
here's a pic of a R33 GTR http://www.bestjapancar.com/NISSAN/GTR600IN1.jpg
I'd like to see that in person...cause I wonder what it really is. the interior looks a lot like a Altima...I can't find a picture to show you...but my girlfriend owns a 94...and the dash looks quite similar.
I wonder if they did a conversion, and used an altima dash/steering column...or maybe it's an altima, with a GTR body conversion....and engine of course.
hmm....curious

actually, the more and more I look at the pictures...it looks like it is a R33, but they used the Altima dash, with GTR guage pod. it's not an altima though....judging by the position of the ebrake....it was definately RHD.
but that dash is definately not GTR, and it does look quite similar to an Altima...

Whoever did that conversion did a damn good job. It looks nice and clean and if you didn't know that it wasn't a skyline interior it could almost pass as stock.

ACTUALLY i dont like it, yes it is more us version but it looses its jdm look
i like rhd because it is unique to the states

well watever it is I would have rather spent the money used to convert whatever was converted on sumin else. Unless they have shit loads of money like that. Driving on the Right side isn't too complicated, I mean as a kid you sat on that side for a long time, so its nothing new.

Ya i wanna knwo where this is at, if you watch some of the vids you see a bunch of people that look like they are middle eastern in thier funny robes. They have some nice cars. How can Japan give them Skylines but not us, we are giving them military protection, all I want in return is a Skyline in my garage, but all I know its the US's fault.
Disclaimer: In no way am I saying negative things about Japan, so if I offened anyone, sorry. I am just mad about the no Skyline thing and not too sure who is to blame.

the only thing I wonder about is the steering linkage. how would they have managed that?
crazy people with money to waste.

I've seen these cars before, a little background.
They're located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Why do they have GT-R's? OIL MONEY! anyway...
The dashboards are from a version of the Laurel that they sell there. The Laurel is one of Nissan's volume sellers there because it's fairly simple, large, and RWD. So, when they brought GT-Rs in, rather than coming up with a LHD Skyline dash they just tossed in a Laurel dash since the Laurel is basically a stretched Skyline anyway.
How did they do the steering linkage? They most likely just bolted in 300ZX parts. Someone in Finland converted an R32 this way. The 300ZX rack bolts in to the R32. The only clearance issue with the motor is the downpipes, which have to be rerouted. Anyone that tells you the RB doesn't fit with LHD is bullshitting you; it doesn't slant any more than a KA!

son of a bitch...you beat me to it. kinda weird that middle eastern kids are into cars... just something i would have never thought of considering the conditions over there

cool, that answers the steering linkage.
as for the RB series not fitting LHD...it's not that it won't fit, just that it takes some customizing. and I don't remember hearing that it's a problem with single turbos, with the exception of very large turbo's, but a problem with the DETT's...as that's a lot of turbo crap to fit in the same spot as the steering linkage. RB's have been done in the US...I wanna say it was only single turbo though.

I have a funny feeling in my stomach now.
Every time I fill up my gas tank I give these kids money. The rich elite of the middle east. : (
These vids put most of the us scene look like crap. They can't record, anyone hear rap music playing on there vids?

Pretty sweet conversion......I wonder if Motorex could source those Laurel dashboards and the 300ZX steering linkage, if they could set up a "LHD conversion" option? Not likely, but....it would be cool.

USDM z32's came with the e-brake on the right like that, so that alone doesn't mean its for real.
Pretty nice looking car though...cept for the dash, its just plain ugly. Looks like a dash out of a 20 year old car.

DSC, you lost me? Are you saying that you think the pic is a fake? Or that the mods were done by a company other than Nissan?
I think that there is little question that car physically exists in it's photographed form. My guess is that they modified it to suit local vehicular codes. Kind of like Motorex, RHD might be prohibited for road cars there.
Any one in here from the UAE that can shed some light on that?
It is pretty clear that they are in the UAE or some other Mid-East country. Note the Arabic on the license plate of a supra on the same site, don't think that you will find that in Omaha. And that they do have the $$$$ to get the job done. I've never noticed that. judging by where the ebrake is on the silvia and 240 and the GTR, I assumed that Nissan did that on all their cars...
I've never noticed a car with an ebrake on the opposite side of the driver...how you supposed to do an ebrake slide?
now I'm curious, I'm gonna have to start looking at different cars and which side the ebrake is on!

ok my friend is from dubai (in the UAE) and he told me that this is common. i emailed the webmaster of the site i linked to, and he said that they convert it themselves, and that the conversion costs 5-7k.
now the reason why i posted this is because i want to find out how to import a car from the UAE. the same friend that told me that these skylines are common in LHD there also told me that his friend is selling a 97 with 48k miles on it for 6k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i said i'd buy it ^_^.

Yeah but you still can't drive it here with out having it overhauled by motorex. IIRC they charge 15 to 28K to retrofit a skyline if you provide the car.

Actually, in the Arabic world, it is not called a Supra... "supra" is a common nickname for a certain male anatomical part. It would be like naming a car the "Toyota Long Dong."

I've also seen a red R33 for sale with the same dash conversion, except the dash and interior pieces were painted..i believed it was around 20G's for that R33, not bad....

What about if you went with J's garages way, where you have to register it as a race car. I don't remember exactly how much he said it would cost, all I remember is the part where you pay $10,000 to US customs I believe and you get your money back when it is registered as a race car. Only thing you have to do is remove the carpeting, A/C, and some other stuff, which J's garage sends back to you so you can put it back in. You will just be dribing an illegal car on the road, or racing it legallly.
Here is a link to J's Garage, e-mail him for more info. (http://www.j-garage.com/index.html)
