Looks like the Video is working
Here's the public release.... scenes have been cut so you can see the more exciting stuff. Starring (i guess) in this video is Coolerow with his beater S13, Keivmx with his pretty S14, Avextrax with his cool Hachiroku, and myself in my S14. Filming done by my friend, Erik.
Oh yea... Keivmx's crash is in here... Well... some of it... you'll see!
6 Minutes, 20MB -- Good Quality (in my opinion)
Format--Video: Divx Compressed ; Audio: MP3 Compressed
P.S. Thanks to Migs for filmind/editing this video and Thanks to Kerv for giving us th chance to post the vid on his FTP.
right/click to save.. hope this works:(

I liked most of the video except when the camera man dropped the camera. That kinda bugs when the flow was really well then all of a sudden he goes out of focus and he starts filming the dash and then goes to his lap. A good camera man will film on no matter what happens.

Ahh yea, sorry about that. I had to brake so hard for that turn that it caught my cameraman by surprise, causing him to bob his head (and the camera) forward.
Avextrax's passenger got actual footage of the crash. I just got the sound effects. Maybe he'll happen to drop by and post it or something. yea...

About being careful... not saying this in reference to Keivmx or Meowth or anything, but if you start canyon driving with your friends and you happen to fall behind, dont be too eager to catch up because remember -- as you're catching up to the pack, you're actually going at a higher speed than the guys in front, a speed that is probably not safe, assuming that the rest of the pack is already pushing their cars pretty hard.
Anyway, good luck finding a place in LA and thanks for the compliments!

Paint a nice picture on that thing (gotta be vague here), and then maybe a little warning on the jeremy's hood.

haha Mikefd3s...lol like WWII haha.
And yea... Sr20Fastsback, I live in the city of San Gabriel. It's a nice place -- pretty quiet... not violent or anything. It's mostly a chill spot. For your interest, there's a lot of people here who are interested in car tuning, mainly people from the local high school, San Gabriel High.
The great part about this town is that the neighborhood is only a couple blocks away from the shopping centers, restaurant, and fast food places. Before I got my 240sx, I literally walked or rode my bike around the whole damn city with my friends. On Main street, we got... a couple of video stores, a couple of supermarkets, McDonalds, JAck in the Box, Burger King, and Carls Jr. Nearby, there are some nice family restaurants that serve chinese food, middle eastern food, and some good-ol'-juicy steaks. ALso, some arcades and malls if you're interested in that stuff.
Population here is mainly Asian and Hispanic with some Black and White people. It's funny though because there's literally a lot of ricers where I live. However, there are some cool car guys here too (and car girls). For example, there is ALWAYS a modded, blue 300ZX that passes by my street every weekday at 10PM. My friend says he always hears it. There's also this girl who drives a hooked up, yellow Miata. Speaking of which, I think she wanted to race me one time when I was coming home from my friend's house. (too bad I couldnt race. I had my friend and his computer in my car at the time)
Anyways, back to the town itself.... it's adjacent with Alhambra, Monterey Park, San Marino, and Pasadena. There's always stuff to do and you don't have to drive too far to do it. If you can get a place in any of these areas, that's great... They're all pretty much the same, except Alhambra and San Gabriel's neighborhoods are a little bit nicer.
Houses? Most people have good looking one-story houses. Most people here are middle class guys, while only a few people are super rich.
Let's see... what else is there to say about this place? Schools.... it's near some good ones if you're even considering that. SG High is not bad. I however drove to downtown LA to go to a better one. Colleges.... uhh... calstate la, ucla, usc.. it's pretty close to those ones.
And now the canyons... I know you're interested in this so I'll tell you as much as I can without telling you... well.... without telling you "as much as i can." All I can say is that some people around here are kinda pissy about people telling other people about thier canyon spots. They don't like ricers messing up their fun, you see. From SG, it's about a 45 minute drive to get to the canyon I usually go to, and about 30 minutes to get to a different canyon thats almost equally as popular.
So yea... if you have any more questions, just post here.

Video codec is divx. Audio is in mp3.
From what Keivmx told me, he braked too hard on that turn, causing his front wheels to lock up. That made his car understeer into the guard rail. The front driver's side corner of his s14 basically hit the guardrail, then the shock caused the rear corner to come around, and that got hit too.

hey SR20, if u plan on movin to LA, i suggest u look for a place in San Fernando Valley, namely woodland hills or canoga park. it isn't too pricey plus it's not that far from the mountains.

Alright thanks for all the info Migs. My mom really wants to move back. I was born in Santa Rosa, and havent really lived there since I was 3 but go down every summer to visit my dad. Shes talking about moving after I graduate HS. about a year from now. Im still deciding if I wanna stay up here an extra year or 2 then move down or go right away. If i stay up here Im going to register at Lake Washingtong technical and do some Auto Tech class action. I might register this fall as to not stay the 2nd year up here. The canyons would be a definate plus of movin there, but I know my mom wants to move to a nice safe neigborhood.
Your town sounds a lot like mine (woodinville) although woodinville is a little on the rich side (and im a little on the middle class side).
Well, hope to count me in on one of these runs sometime in the near future. But until then Im goin back to watchin Home Improvement and sleeping.

It's only cosmetic damage so no big deal. I just have to cut off a couple of quarter panels and weld new ones back on.
As for the front...I am trying to find some used kouki equipment in Japan.
I took pictures after the meet...but I did so with a traditional camera. When I get these developed, I'll try posting them.
Migs is correct. I didn't know that the turn was a 180 degree hairpin so I took it a bit too fast. I tried slowing down late and locked up the front tires. Stupid mistake really.... We can take a break, drink some Coke and junk, and then we can use them as cones for a little rally track. ha ha ha
BTW, Coolerow, I estimate about 2 weeks till I get the springs. I'll be looking for shocks/struts in the meantime...yes...woooOoOoh
On a side-note, I just got back from visiting San Jose State University. Nice school--seems like a good place to take up animation. However, the area is pretty crummy... it looks like there's nothing to do. Although, there is this little section of the city called "Japan Town." I didnt have time to go there though... I wonder what it's like...
I know there are a couple people from san jose who are part of this message board... Now to find out where they go to canyon-run... muahah..

!!!! Yea man! I'd sure like to see the canyon run from someone else's point of view -- that would kick ass. Maybe you could upload your video like I did. Or maybe you could send me your tape, and I could do it for you. (and give you back the tape of course )
