where to get fabric for door panels? socal

looking for door panel fabric to replace the tweed... anyone know where i can get something in so cal, preferably OC/LA area? i've been to a few fabric stores and been dissapointed.

i'm looking for black suede or a black velvet/tweed kinda style cloth. something really soft and comfy and makes you want to hug it. hope that didn't sound gay lol.

have you tried joanns? they have alot of cloth there

You can just pull the tweed off the doors and it's black vinyl under it. I went to JoAnn's Fabric (like I-am-so-slow posted) and pulled the tweed off of my glove compartment and covered that with black vinyl.

yeah hey sorryi shoulda updated... i was really looking for suede and finally found some. i didn't want to go to joann's cus they were pretty pricey.. but i ended up finding it only there (after like 7 fabric stores) freakign $20 a yard.. whatever...

I just pulled my door pannel fabric off. The secret is peeling it off very slowly, because if you dont RIP! and then ur up the creek :)

When I recovered my nardi steering wheel, I bought suede off of ebay. I think it was like 8-10 bucks for a whole goat skin. I wonder how jo-ann's suede compares..

well i haven't felt the ebay suede but i'll definately tell you the jo-anns stuff is top notch. it feels soooo smooth. i freaking want to sleep on it. but hell, it better be for $20 a yard. luckily the lady messed up when she was cutting it so they gave me 30% off lol.

i'll post pics this weekend... hopefully i'll have time to do them
