Wierd Shaking

I get this wierd shaking that feels like its either coming from my motor or somewhere in the front. It only happens around 30-50 mph and it doesn't do it anywhere below or beyond that. I've checked for bad tie rods and rod ends by jacking up the car and trying to check for play in the wheels and there isn't any. I've also inspected all of the mounts and they seem to be ok. I also recently had an alignment and my wheels balanced so I don't believe its that either. Anyone have an idea of what else it could be?

I have the same thing happen to me when I accelerate to get anywhere from say 55 on up, but when your coasting or not under accleration it either dies down some or doesn't shake at all. I assume you mean the steering wheel? Took it by a shop and guy tried balancing, and realized some how, one tire out of the 4 was almost in new condition and other 3 were worn and I need tires soon. Im confused just from the statement. The balance didn't do squat btw. Are your tires in good shape? I probably won't get tires until we're close to july for inspection. Just trying to stay off the brakes and gas when I can. If you come up with anything please post. If it was closer to the time for my inspection, I could let you know if new tires helped me or not. BTW I have a 95

All of my tires only have about 2000 miles on them. There is vibration in the steering wheel, but it's also coming from somewhere else and I haven't been able to figure out the problem. And this is just from coasting.

Well in my case all suspension is stock, and I have not had an alignment since I've owned the car starting from new years

get an alignment. and check ALL bolts under the front end. I had a slight wobble around that speed too. Didnt know bolts on a lower bracer were coming out till they all fell out at the track. Fucking up my PS rack.

yeah, I have the same problem too, and a lot of my mechanic friends told me I need a wheel balance, I suggest you give it a try.

How did you check for tie rods? Checking for free play sometimes doesn't work. The best way to check is take your hand and grip on the middle of the tie rod, then pull down. There should be absolutely no play when you pull directly downwards towards the ground on the tie rod. I tried to check for free play but it didn't show up until I tugged on it. Secondly you can check for worn wheel bearnings by pushing the top of the face of the tire towards the inside of the car and pulling the bottom of the front face of the tire put outwards. Spin the tired 45 degress and repeat steps. if there is any play check suspension (blown shocks or loose pillow balls) and possibly wheel bearing. My problem came down to I had a flat spot on all 4 tires because I was street racing and locked up the tires for half a block. good luck

Thanks slider, i'll try that. As for the wheel bearings, I did push up and down on the wheels to check for free play and didn't find any, but i'll try again the way you suggested. As for my suspension, my coilovers are only about 2 weeks old, I just got some silk road rma8's :] and nothing's loose on them.

Still no luck with slider's suggestion. I tried pulling straight down on the tie rods and no play. Also did the wheel bearing check like he suggested, no play there either. I'm not really sure what else to check. Any other suggestions from anyone?
