I finally decided to completely refinish my wheels. So far, I have finished the rears and I am about to take apart the fronts. I really like the outcome and I can't wait to see them on my car. Anyways... here are some shots of them.

Damn, I need to get some wheels that aren't stock off another car, so I can get to work on them.
Anyone know where I can find some 17x9+17-23 Work Equip 05s? :D

thats nice good job. I was wondering if you used the chrome paint crap on the spoke disk or did you actually use a polish/buff method? I guess I do not know because the material the spoke disk on my wat's are made of a hard conrete like material. So I just painted my wheels instead. Was it hard to take your spoke apart from the rim disk? My watanabe's were a pain in the ass! used a sldgehammer...hahaha the rims are hard and took a beating but are still fine. Oh yeah cannot wait to see the finished result.

Daniel:Hahah... I will probably finish them in a week.
chmercer: I used aircraft paint remover to strip the paint off the center pieces. The surface of the center pieces were extremely rough so I used a die grinder and a dremel with sanding bits to smoothen the surface. The power tools did not complete the job, so I had to hand sand the remaining rough surfaces. I went through several grits of sand paper, 180-1500 grit. I applied tripoli polishing compound and buffed it out with some polishing tools. I finished it off with Mothers aluminum polishing compound.
<3MyRiceRocKet: I buffed out the center pieces. It was definitely the most strenuous portion of the wheel because the surface was super rough to hold the original paint. Taking apart the wheels was not difficult, it was just very time consuming. Hahah... I just kicked the center pieces out as soon as i removed all the bolts. Make sure to torque the bolts back on and loctite the ends of the threads.
2iv0 sx: Hahaha yeah... My wheels actually looked fairly similar to his before.

the 'wolf pack' or wahtever they are called are gay. they need to be shot for such a stupid song. true gangstas and african americans dont wear vans because they are 'cool'. they need to get off the damned 80's bandwagon.
advans look awesome, did you clearcoat them so they dont rust?

Very good job. Man everyone is refinsing these Advans and making them extremely hot.
I'm considering getting a set now and just running spacers to make them the flush.
Pos. Rep for restoring some of my favorite wheels.

hmm i only torque'd my bolts with hand strength to about 15 lbs..I hear its about 13 lbs only but I dont know. I used loctite on the bolts too incase...They haven't fallen apart yet so it's all gravy. Didn't even have to seperate the rim disks. I'm sure it would be the same on the advans.
Oh yeah we better see pictures of the finished product on your s13. It's too nice...I regret not "chromin" out my watanabees.

Looks really good, you have a lot of patience. If I were you I would get some of the Eastwood Diamond clear for bare metal and spray them. That stuff is awesome and made my manifold stay reaaaallllyy shiny without ever having to touch it up. Just a suggestion....
When you had to take the rims apart did you have to put some sort of gasket in between the face and the lip(s)? or you just torqued the nuts and bolts?

cheap_sticker05: I was thinking about using zoop seal but it's really pricey. I may just leave them the way they are and polishing them when they lose their shine.
DRFT: I applied loctite to the threads of the screws and torqued them.

what torque specs did you use? and did you use any special pattern when bolting them down?
