KA tranny questions

hey guys .. I haven't posted in a LONG time :)

needless to say .. my father has a 95 Nissan Truck .. in awesome condition except tranny and a hole in the frame .. which I can the hole. here is my question: An actual tranny rebuild would cost me close to 1000, which sucks , and the truck is 4wd so I don't know if there are other trannies I can throw in there. would a Tranny from a 240 bolt up and work ??? I am thinking about making it a nice little street/show truck, therefor I could care less for the 4wd, but it would be nice to have.. would the transfer case bolt up to the tranny ???? because I am sure it is easierr to get a 240 tranny then a truck tranny because ppl want a arm and leg for em...

come on ppl this is somewhat important :(

I did a little reasearch on my own and it seems that both, the Truck and the 240 KA24 Trannies are FS5W71C. if that is actually the case .. it would be easier for me :)
please someone confirm that their 240 came with a FS5W71C tranny lol

I appreciate your offer, but I have to decline. My fathers truck happens to be a 5-spd, so I would like to swap in another 5 spd.

Same transmission as the 2WD, but I believe the gearing is changed and the bellhousing is different. 4WD would probably be a no go.

hm.... i am not really that concerned about the gear ratios .. because they would have to be close anyway .. and the transfer case can then throw it in 4wd low anyway lol Maybe I will just go a junkyard and pick one up and try it out Oo
