Whenever it rains my car will act really wierd. For example last night I was driving home on a fairly long trip and it started to rain really hard. I had my foot on the gas and it was like the fuel was cutting in and out, but the car didnt shut off. It would stop pulling for about a full second and then start driving for another second or two then stop pulling again, and then do a little jerky jerk then be fine for a while again. (This is the worst explaination ever! LOL). After about 20 min. of bucking the car ran perfectly for 2 hours, until I stopped to get something to eat and turned the car off. When I turned it back on the bucking returned.
Now I was thinking it was a MAF problem because I had the same problem on my Maxima, but it was alot more violent. It was like riding a bucking horse (seriously). Can moisture affect the MAF? (Im also having problems boosting up to 15psi in dry weather, it pops under heavy boost and throttle and im thinking its the maf)
What about the O2 sensor?
Also I removed my fender liner when I put in my coilovers. Could water be getting somewhere it shouldnt?

check for boost/vacuum leaks.

I Did, can't find any. I ruled that out because after driving for 20 min or so the problem goes away. If it was a boost leak then it would be the same all the time.

check your maf and check your plug gap. but sounds like the wet wether has an effect on your maf. it possible sum water is gettin on the filter. because we all know nissans mafs are very sensitive. and for not being able to go beyond 15 pounds check the plug gap along with the fuel mixture. it possible either the fuel isnt there and the car is leanin out and breakin up or the gap is too big and u running higher boost is blowing out the spark.

you can try this. High voltage arcs more under moist conditions(like when it's raining) If your spark plug wires are a little old, voltage will leak through easier when it's raining. Test this by opening up your hood in a dark area or at night time. Get a spray bottle filled with water and spray on the wires while the car is running. If you see arcs while doing this, your problem is the wires. Replace. There is also a chemical that you can buy that is more effective than water, but water should work just fine. Also spray over the igniton coil(if external) and distributor cap.
Mine did this too.
Check for exposed wires in the fender well.
More importantly, check the O2 sensor and the wires going to it.
My O2 sensor was fine, but there was a cut in one of the wires that I didn't see, causing the car to stumble and buck.

umm what about water getting in your mafs? im not talking about hydro locking your motor, just talkling about getting your sensor wet, take it out and clean it and see what happens.

I concur with this assesment.

i know i dont have an sr..but my ka did this for a while....and i noticed my ecu got fried....water would seep through the opening of where the lights and the hood will meet...so everytiime i used the HUD..it willl cause my car to bog and hesitate.....but although my 90 alos did this and i replaced the wires and plugs and it ran fine...but def check for parts where the water will seep through....
