just thought i'd bring this up... after seeing the whole "ruskie" thing...

as everyone already knows... cash in hand and pick-up are usually the best things to do.... but when all else fails... and you need to buy from someone who has next to nothing on their feedback/or is just new....

things to try n avoid
1. always try to avoid sending a personal check with personal info ..
2. always avoid paying with travelers cheques...
3. avoid money orders.. or money transfers (western union style)

things u might want to try n consider
1. pay the fee and send a BANK wire (more secure.. and u can always amend)
2. "international fsa" transfer (overseas.. very hard to explain.. ask your bank.. it puts the bank as the "middle man" it will not send the funds untill the shipping dock confirms that you package is on board.. sometimes requires a loan account)
3. if u must paypal.. make sure you paypal with like capital ones "no hassle on fraud" card...

all these things just make it safer for the buyers... and harder for the fraud sellers... as a normal seller.. it also makes sure that the funds you recieve will not be subjected to reversal... "if its on paper... its traceable"

the safer it is to buy and sell.. the better off everyone is right??? hope this helps... if not.. mods... dont hurt me...

thanks dad.

...haha

good stuff its true.
dont do that overseas shit imo its not worth it
always go with reputable sellers. not group buys who want to import a billion motor set. thats obviously not going to work.
dont trust most people from FL
or Indianapolis
and if in doubt, get a persons telephone number.

even what seems to be cash can be risky too. Counterfeit cash and all....240 people are amongts one of the cheapest people next to Corolla people and it amazes me how cheap/lowball/scammers people are :P If its a large purchase i make sure the person goes to the bank with me and get a Bank check right before my eyes.

hahahahha funny i get it :)

but yeah, sucks if u aint in socal, cause thats where all the awesome cash pickup deals are

if its too good to be true, then it is

and if you get scammed, make it your vendetta to make it hell forever for the scammer

i'll straight up shank you if you scam me, straight prison style gangsta

I've been trying to sling my paintball gun forever now. I had forgotten what cheap bastards those clowns were.

Me: *Angel/Tank/Barrels* 350$

Some fucknut: "I'll give you 250 shipped and pay when I get it, I never pay in advance since i got scammed once"

Me: "Uhhh, thats not how buying shit works retard"

Corrolla guys also tend to scwabble over trivial amounts of money
"FS: something from a shit heap rolla for a shit heap rolla, 10$"
"I'll give you 9$ shipped"

I haven't gotten scammed buying car stuff yet. Prolly because I stick to Phase2, A Spec and SPL and tend not to buy used shit.

Lol, 240 owners are cheap.... I have the best one:

Buyer: I assume you have a KA radiator for sale seeing you just did an SR swap.
Me: I guess I do, I was planning on using it for another project, but if you really need one I guess I can sell it. $50 and it's yours.
Buyer: I was hoping you could go lower.
Me: Dude, $50 is cheap, it's an aluminum radiator............ fine, $20 and it's yours.
Buyer:.......actually I was hoping to get it for free?
Me: *click*

What sucks is when you get screwed by a forum sponsor. Then get banned for telling the rest of the forum what happened.

(BTW I'm definatly not talking about your business!)

Although that particular forum sponsor has been banned from other forums.. thanks to my vendetta :D

Me and a few other people got scammed from a known forum member on another car forum using paypal. Sometimes it just cant be helped.

I bought a used sparco fmic for $150 and the fucker never shipped it like he said he did! Same situation for the other guys that bought from him. He just posted his shit for sale, never shipped any of it and just hit the road.
I tried just about everything to get my money back or the IC but paypal sucks for fraud. They told me straight up I wouldnt get my money back. Local authorities dont do shit and the online fraud thing wasnt any help... they said they couldnt do anything since the guy does not live at his residence anymore, even disconnected his phone and everything!

I even had someone in his area go to his house to see whats up but he had already hit the road:(

yea... when ever paypal is in the scene... u want to try and paypal from a zero fraud liability credit card... those things work wonders... as long as its not abused...
