View Full Version : parts trip to Hong Kong
Hey, im gonna be going to China in a couple of weeks and ill also be in Hong Kong, mainly to buy some rare jdm parts. A good friend of mine says the market there is second to Japan, so im hoping to find some pretty cool stuff to bring back. If u guys get together a list of the rarest jdm parts u guys would want (within reason, i.e., no body kits etc), id be willing to bring a lot of stuff back. lemme know people....

good luck
HK sucks for parts (usually have to order)
Mong Kok is the place to go
many things are more expensive then here
few tunin shops aorund there
there really isnt much.
ive been to HK like..6 to 8 times maybe?
nothingimpressive
its rare to see a nice 'modded' car. did see a few sweet GTRs
but most of the stuff u can get as cheap or cheaper stateside. or doods from japan who ship to the US.
but have fun
i lvoe the food in HK.

yes, you are right, most parts have to order... Mong Kok is a pretty good place to go but Yuen Long has the most body shop and parts store. If u plan to shop for accessories, then u can just go to Mong Kok and Shum Shui Po.
Also, Hong Kong Food is the best!!!

Not just chickens! What about the ducks and squid and all that?! hahahaha
Man, I haven't been back there since year 2000, I miss my birth place!!!
Godamnit need a job to afford plane tickets and hotel fees so I can go back...
Last time I was there in 2000, I had a hard time trying to find a damned set of Razo shift knob and pedals that I liked. And while walking around the small shops in Mong Kok I saw a black NSX sitting outside one of the shops. The owner was walking back and forth working on the engine or something.
But yeah, I'll have to say that, if you were looking for cheap wheels or rare parts and such, that HK isn't the place to go. Going to the junkyard in Japan or going to Upgarage or something would be the way to go for that.
We should have a Zilvia tour for HK or something! hahaha Gather up everyone from here that wants to go and the HK natives can be tour guides! hahaha

i've seen a few fixed up s13's around in hk. i know there's atleast 1 shop on the outskirts who's owner has a kouki 180sx (bought my kouki kit from him). i've also seen some cool used parts forsale pretty cheap in their trader magazines. overall though i definately wouldn't go there expecting a used parts nirvana. a lot of the used stuff seems pretty beat up too. more like it's the used stuff that got rejected by japan.

Actually Narita is very close to chiba, where all the car places are. Its just there are not many buses or trains that are in the chiba area cause nothing but warehouses there. Good thing ain't it? Hahahaha..... But chiba is also a huge racing area especially the route going to the airport from Tokyo, man see like 4 GTRs wooing by on my way to the airport all modified. hahaha... But ima going to Japan in October, maybe a fellow zilvian will give me a ride around? PLease !?!?!?1
