Ok...I've searched and Searched and Searched....I’m putting together an s13 im planning on making it a daily driver and occasionally use it for drift. I don’t want the suspension to be terribly stiff however I know that some what stiff is inevitable.

I have about 1500 to spend on coilovers their is plenty of info on the KTS but I can’t find very much info on the Super Drifts (I found plenty on the Old HE's).
Are these coilovers Comparable? I considering these two coilovers mostly because they can by overhauled, it seems that other companies make the overhauling process more difficult.

Coilovers are a big investments and a important upgrade Please help me make the right Decision

I’m still open to suggestions so your opinions would be a great help..

If I left any needed info out please let me know....

Anything named "super drift" will most likely not be a comfortable ride on the streets.

http://www.tein.com/ti/p04.html scroll to the bottom....they are 10/8 springs.

Depends more on the damping than the spring rates. Many people with high quality coilovers and really high spring rates like 10/8 report much improved ride quality over something basic like the HEs.
I don't know anyone with the Super Drifts. I would be interested in input as well.

I went with KTS for my S14... good price, great reviews and easy to rebuild if needed.
10/8 springs will most likely be pretty bad on the streets depending on your area

Go KTS and use the rest of the money on some toe links (depending on how low you wanna go) and rear upper control arms... Might as well get them all at splparts.com cuz thats the cheapest you can get them online unless you buy used. poly bushings are a good upgrade for the buck. Especially on old worn out S13 bushings

10/8 is NOT bad whoever says it is clueless
my Tanabe DDs rode smoooooth as can be on the softest setting. bump it up for the track and was solid

Tein is ok i wouldnt get it again but hey gotta start somewhere

the JDM jic flta2 (back in the day) were WAAAAAY better then the tein in a billion ways
the DDs were the jam but tanabe usa SUCKS
right now using STANCE
so far loving it! about the closest i can get to the DDs
running 9/7 KG on the car. :)

At least Tein finally stepped it up with Inverted struts and Monotube.

Last years flex Im sure they were digging up with Dinosaur bones and SA3Rs.

go with KTS or Stance

This is my suggestion for you. Get KTS coilovers and spend the extra money on tie rods, tension rod, bigger sway bars, and get an alignment. You will be a lot happier with the money you work hard for. Instead of going all out on top of the line expensive coilovers and leave everything else stock. It's not going to make a big different as getting the setup i suggested.

To answer your questions. I drove my friend s13 with Tein Super Drift and they're very nice overall. I ordered my KTS and hopefully they will come soon. I do think tein super drift can get pretty harsh on the freeway and bad roads. If you need to go to the restroom really bad and you're on a rough freeway, trust me you prolly won't be able to hold it :D .

Tein SD are fine but can get a little ruff at the hardest setting. They are fine for daily driving and have the great side effect of making boobs jiggle(or very scary if you or a passenger has man tits).

They are 10000x beter then blown out stock and 100x beter then kei office gu's. I have heard good things about the KTS and Stance coil-overs, both of which should be a little cheaper.

Why not just got with a good shock and spring set up for half the price?

Because shocks and springs fail in comparison to coilovers. I'm never getting shocks and springs again.

I've had them both, and I'd say go with tein sd's.

You get what you pay for.

Once preload and dampening is set propperly, the ride was far better than the kts'.

But you can't beat spl's customer service and price for brand new shocks.

my KTS's will be here this week:boink: , can't beat quality and replacement shocks for $550. i have never heard anything bad about KTS or SPL...

The Megan is quite comfortable for me. Good dampening as well. I know it wasn't one of the choices but it costs 30% less.

And it feels 60% worse...

...from the super drifts at least.

Well, it seems that Stance is quickly becoming the "best" for bang for the buck.

And Zeals... those are another $1000 on top of the price for the Tein SDs.
