So got the tranny swapped. Car starts etc. Cuz forgot 1 minor thing! :duh: install the pilot bearing! Figured it was not too important :axe: and ummm yea learning the hard way that it was quite a mistake. Now we ran the car that way for a bit now that we wanna get it out it wont budge. Seems as if though it welded itself to the engine. Really cant get it out. Anyhow, once we do get it out; what do I need to pull out of the crank :rl: (it was an auto to manual swap) :D and then does the pilot bearing just fit in?;) Well if anyone has encountered this prob,:hahano: can you tell me how u got the tranny off? :blah: Do I need to bring out the engine? :bite: Well thanx for any help.

when you did the swap did you get the auto pilot bushing out?, if not you have to get it out before you put the new pilot bushing in. Also maybe did you remove all the bolts off the tranny. If not, at that point your best bet is a prybar at different points. Last resort pull the motor and tranny. I never had that problem and I've done several auto to manual swaps.

I JUST went through this over the weekend.
I also did a 5 speed swap and did not take out the automatic pilot bushing. Somehow, even though it's pressed in, it slipped off and jammed in the splines of the imput shaft behind the clutch disc hub.
This stopped the clutch from disengaging so eventually we were forced to cut the bellhousing open and cut off the jammed pilot bushing and reinstall the other tranny with a new manual pilot bushing. Voila, i got the car back today and it runs great.
