View Full Version : PLZ HELP! no power from ECU TO THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR HELP!!

i had a thread up about 2 weeks ago and i only got 2 responses, both failing to help. i have NO power coming out of my ecu to my TPS. now obvioulsy everyone says well trace it back. ive traced every wire back its all hoooked up right, even matched the wiring with a harness done professionaly. any ideas at all PLZ help me. its a 240sx with a stock s13 sr20det. as soon as i fix this itll be up and running so plz respond

So, when you trace it back, did you just check the continuity of the three wires back to the ECM? Did you check if the wires are shorted together or to ground?

See if there was a 5V and Ground coming out of the ECM itself. Check with the connector both on and off to see if there are any shorts.

ok cool. another thing, does the MAF make an impact on the TPS getting power>?

They look independent from the wiring diagram, but they could possibly have the same power supply inside the ECM itself I guess.

Are you having MAF problems too?

not that i know of, but when my dad blows in the MAF, the motor revs, other than that theres no other way to rev the motor the peddle dont work.

try using that thing on your throttlebody, called a butterfly which is what your gas "pedal" through a thing called a throttle cable, hooks up to. push it towards, you, and it willl rev the motor, just like if your throttle cable were rev'ing it.
