I'm in the process of installing a roll bar in my '95 S14 but I'm having trouble finding a mounting location for the bar running from the top of the main hoop down to the trunk on the passenger side. The way the spare tire well is placed, I can't come through the hole where the back seat used to be and land the bar anywhere. is my best bet just moving the spare tire and coming down to the bottom of the well? anyone have pics of the trunks of S14s with rollcages or bars to maybe give me some ideas?

Is this for drag racing? Because if it isn't, it may be a better idea to go to the strut tower rather than the trunk. Going to the trunk from the main hoop is more of a weight distribution idea for drag racing. These are the only pics of my cage that I can find (mounted to strut towers.)

Pre-dimple die sheet metal of course.
Here's another one, my opinion worse picture though:

Anyway, I would recommend just going to strut tower if you're using for grip/drift. I guess if this is for drag racing then go for the trunk...I'll look at my car tomorrow and try to think of something better for going to the trunk.

Go to the Strut Towers or wheel tubs, either way will pass SCCA (ala Kirk and Autopower). Thats what all the Japanese cages do also, the good ones will tie the bottom of the rear downbars into the bottom of the main hoop. Otherwise the MA Motorsports guys run two pairs of downbars on their S13s, one pair to the shock tower and one pair to the frame rails inbetween the wheel tubs (which IIRC is the gas tank area on 14s).
Don't you need a diagonal to pass SCCA? The radiused gussets are cool though, where did you get the plate pre dimpled?
