Just goto FreshAlloy.com and ask some of the cali-SR guys where they get their cars inspected. &nbsp;California seems cool...but isnt it crowded out there...and the sales tax is like what.....13 cents on the dollar or something? &nbsp;I do have to admit that Im a bit envious because I just KNOW that theres gotta be a lot of JDM hookups out there (someone who knows someone who speaks fluient Japanese and knows a guy who owns a tuner shop in japan...etc..).

Fact is California could seceded from the country and become its own country its got the manpower its got the resources and its got the technological industry which is whats driving this countrys economy. why do think the rest of the country is always trying to put us down or stick it to us? Be it through the ethanol Corn growers lobby or the President convenienently looking the other way while the feds force California into a screwed up energy derugalation requirement that allowed ill conceived law and Texas (President and oilman Bush's home state ) to rape us energy wise.

i dont think there's anything wrong with california. Moving here from kansas and missing your friends has nothing to do with California being a "gay ass place". just chill for a few months and if you still think its whack then california is whack. granted that the scene and people are different in ca and kansas, all im saying is just give it a chance before you call california shitty again. &nbsp;i'd rather be miles away from homies than visiting them 6 ft under or in prison for life.

well im moving to LA next week so ill be able to see first hand if it all everyone says good or bad. &nbsp;I totally understand about leaving friends.. luckly friends of mine have moved out there already. &nbsp; I've &nbsp;visited before ago and always always wanted to stay .. I cant stand winters. I like snow everyonce and while so I can go to the mountains for that.. i dont have to live in it for half the year. Plus I cant find a job here and I see a bunch out there and have been offerd a great one. &nbsp;There are tracks out there too so I think its an ideal place for car people. &nbsp;I cant wait to go to burton willow thats for sure. anyways cheer up night kids youll learn to like cali. &nbsp;I hope I will:) &nbsp; &nbsp;
btw: I won't have a garage to work on my car anymore.
is there a place i can rent a garage with a lift and power tool even? &nbsp;to work on my ride somewhere in LA?

I don't know about passing time in Kansas, but I live in Farmington New Mexico, which is 39 miles from a huge reservation in which every working resident of Farmington pays taxes towards the Navajos so that they can get goverment checks, free living, drive brand-new trucks, and just generally think they are better than every one else. &nbsp;And once the first of the month rolls around they are all invading Farmington for about 10 days to shop, when we pay them to live, and stay in Shiprock. &nbsp;Now as far as Sykikchimp said about the pow-wow thing, if we had emissions in this town, that is all we would have to do, start beating on a drum, dancing around, and handing out alchohol to all the drunk navajos laying on the side of the road. &nbsp;Now, with that said, I would love to live in California, it seems like a nice change from my everyday life, considering I go there every year as a vacation. My $0.02

well, i go to school at the University of Kansas, but i'm from Minneapolis. so i can compare and contrast big city stuff vs "small town" stuff pretty well. first off, KU is in the city of Lawrence (pop 75,000; of which 25,000 are students) so it's a pretty hoppin place. and being in a fraternity, there are always kegs of beer to be drank and girls to get naked. pretty much i'm never bored. you'd be surprised, there are actually a fair number of decent cars in lawrence. lawrence basically has all the stuff a big city has, but just in fewer numbers. kansas city is only 30 min away, although i don't like kc near as much as minneapolis.
i like minneapolis a lot, lots of college's all over the place, plenty of pro sports to go see, lots of small clubs to go see bands in, and a central location where everybody ( imports, domestics, and bikes) go on fri and sat night. although the import guys are the only ones that get hassled, and everytime i try and have a reasonable calm conversation with the police about this i get threatened. i mean, i'm a white guy, what trouble can i cause? &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> &nbsp;and we got more beaches than you can shake a stick at, maybe not ocean beaches, but the late night lake party scene is nuts. there's an island in the middle of the lake i live a block from (in MN you're 15 min away from a dozen lakes at all time) where they hold concerts and people camp on. pretty much everybody just ties their boats together and you wander around gettin hammered, it rules.
