Help Removing a Lower Control/A Frame from 240sx 89'

Does anyone know how to remove this damn thing. i have spent the last 3-4 days trying everything imaginable to remove it and it won't budge. I removed the two bolts from the back that attach to the subframe. Right behind the hub there is a hole where the bolt/spindle from the frame attaches to the hub. Well i got the nut that secures it off but it won't budge. So now i broke a damn hammer trying to beat it out. Does anyone know of a tool that i can use to make this crap easier to remove? Perhaps an impact hammer? I've searching the forums but i can't seem to find the info i need or perhaps i'm not using the proper key words to perform the search.

I'm not 100 percent positive i understand your problem, but if its what i think it is....

I usually use an impact wrench. I put the impact wrench on the bolt side, and put the gun in reverse. While your spinning the BOLT with the impact(counterclockwise ofcourse) tap or push on the threaded end of the bolt. This should make it come out somewhat easily...

well i broke the hammer :( arg but that ball joint removal tool seems intersting. i need to get a compressor and impact wrench since that sounds like the next best thing to do.

what tool? I dont think a ball joint removal tool will help if i understand correctly whats happening....

It basically looks like a giant, two pronged fork. You put it between two things, and it separates them...

ah ok i think i know which one you're talking about. yeah the area is too tight to fit anything like a sledge hammer or anything to give it enough down force to pop the damn thing out. the impact wrench/hammer might be the way to go.

Are you are talking about removing the ball joint?
Well if you are, then use the tool in the middle. You can usually rent the tool at autozone.
Remember that if you are going to reuse the ball joint to keep the nut on the top part of the ball joint so that you don't damage it.

let me post pics and see if that clarifies it. but that tool in the middle seems like something that would work.

you see the part that appears just below the shock. that part won't come out. it has the little rubber boot with a ball socket. i got the entire frame free from the subframe but not from the wheel hub area.

That is the ball joint. They make a Ball Joint Fork. Do not use it unless you are changing out your ball joint. You are more likley to damage the ball joint.

Just go rent that tool kit I mentioned before. Remember to use a nut on the ball joint so when you use the tie rod remover that you don't damage it.

oh shit.. i completly mis-understood what you were trying to say.

THAT THING with rubber is called a balljoint. If you beat on it at all, you should replace it. If it breaks, you will lose a wheel which=bad.

Use the fork separator as shown above, and then replace the joint....

ok, yeah i ended having to buy the whole part cause the lower control arm is bent. not sure if you can see it in that pick but it's shot. the ball joint is gone as well, shot it's load when the frame was bent.

ok autozone didn't have the one in the middle, they had the one in the bottom left of the pic. only problem is the drive shaft that connects to the wheel hub is in the way. so for me to use that tool i have to take everything apart. anyone live in Houston that could let me use the tool displayed in the middle. cause autozone and O'reilly's(sp?) doesn't have it.

got the tool finally and got it off, took fucking 3 turns and it poppe off. now putting everyting back together.
