Some kid just told me he went to Japan last summer and there were all these hooked up preludes there and how much respect they get and blah blah blah.
I am not sure if he's bs ing. Cuz in Hong Kong, there's no Preludes at all, and if it's so popular in Japan, it would be popular in Hong Kong too. I told him and he said Japan and hong kong are different.
How do ppl in Japan look at the Prelude? I was thinking it can't be too good, since it's FWD.

Cuz Japan got the most hardcore racers, so if it's popular, there's got to be a reason.

if they were that good they would have their own hyper rev mag (i may be wrong by now). unlike us the silvia that got 3 volumes so far. option mag? i dont see shit about them. carboy? not even! we may not read japanese but from what the pictures you see on those, it fore tells what cars they admire. and to what my japanese friend told me, toyota/lexus (their number 1 national car maker) are most popular followed by nissan and the rest. honda? yeah, it is too but not to the extent how that kid sounded like as if it is God's performance car. honda will always be a motorcycle/ lawnmower engine to the japanese. should i believe him? not necessarily. hec, ive never been to japan myself. to see is to believe.

From what I understand they're not as popular as your friend makes them out to be. The Civic Type-R and Integra Type-R are far more popular (As they should be). There is a reason they're going to stop making the Prelude, and it's not because it's FWD, it's because it's heavy... they just aren't competitive on the tracks... especially short tracks. As far as Japanese people not respecting/liking Honda... and viewing them as a lawn mower company... umm lol... no.
Anyways, from the friends I've talked with in Japan, 240s are a lot like Civics are here in the states.

For the same price range as the Civic R and Integra R, I think people will prefer them instead of prelude.

Well Just from being over here I would say that the prelude is a car for a Japanese man in his late 30's who only cares about snack bars and soaplands. You will more than likely see it modified by the young Military Honda heads. The Honda Integra and the civics are usually the hot thing for japanese guys. There are a lot of Civ's and teg's with turbo. They are pretty fast......(well not as fast as me) but that is another story.

Holy shit, CA18Guy you're the only guy I know in this thread. When n00b's attack. Why the sudden burst of posters?
I would think that they look at them like lesser lifeforms. I mean, they have a lot of good cars over there, and the prelude isnt one of the better sports cars, if youd call a super-gramma-goer a sports car.
