How long did your front bumper/lip last?

I have my first zenki s14 lip on for about 4 years now its all chewed to shit. Now i have a brand new zenki lip and its already taking some damage. MY car isnt even that low!

Notice how its suppose to hang lower where the vents are? Thats long gone, its just straight across now. I dont even care anymore, I just put more black paint on top of it hah. OEM will take a beating. Now if it were fiberglass, i probably wouldnt have anything there. Im afraid to put my Vtund lip on.

I had an Ebay Uras front bumper on the car for about 11 hrs.

I finished ghetto rigging it on at around 6pm and went to sleep, I woke up at 4am to roll to houston for an event. About an hour in I'm zoned out trying to get some Dragonforce going on the cd player and I look up to see a racoon running across the road, bam bumpers cracked all to hell (survived pretty well, IMO) but I have no where to put it and my ghetto brackets and zipties couldn't hold it enough or hold the cracked lip together. So it scrapes pretty much the rest of the way to houston and right when I get into town I hear a wack and the scrapes over bumps stop. When I get there I see that the center lip had cracked completely off so it looked like an Enzo or chuki bumper or something. Sold it to D-Money for 20$ and went on my way.


I was lolling the entire time, it was cracked when I got it so I already had a new one on the way and the company said they didn't want it back. In conclusion, thats why you buy ebay kits.

My new bumpers still going strong after about a month and a half.

haha at bragging about stock bumper.you could pile drive cinder blocks with s13 fronts and s14 fronts and that shit would hold up

if your car is low and you have frp bumper
its going to get destroyed eventually. just part of it

daily driving is manageable but track stuff. depending on where you are lapping/drifting/etc one off could mean time for a new bumper if you really care about it

current bumper- 4 months so far, dozens of cones, half a dozen shooting off track, a dead ham in the road, 4" step in asphalt. still looks pretty good surprisingly. little duplicolor paint pen goes a long way

stock zenki lip lasted 16 years, 2 of those being slammed. It was scratched up but it was metallic and in the light looked brand new. Pignose bumper lasted that same time. Took a scratch when i scraped my friends bumper mid drift. Then he tapped me and cracked part of the mount. Then a week later a tire on a semi blew and flew over my friends car right into my bumper. Replaced it with Origin bumper which was slammed on 15s, there was a rock in the road abotu 2 weeks after putting it on and that chipped the bottom (not visible). 2 weeks after that spunin front of my friend mid drift and destroyed the bumper. Gave it to a friend who taped it back up and he destroyed it a few weeks later. Now I have another Origin bumper awaiting destruction.. Getting a spare bumper pretty soon.

Lesson of the story its a big game of chance. You could be super cautious and never break your bumper, but tandems are boring when far apart, and driving at snail paced speeds is boring on the streets. So make friends with your local aero distributor and your local paint guy and have a ball...

hit a fawkin animal last week lip broke off splitter is all mashed to shit but it protected my lip enough that i can fix my greddy lip, but splitter is demolished from scraping on the highway

Original bumper lasted six years, second lasted a little over a year. Newest bumper was painted and mounted for a month before hitting a small animal and breaking part of the bottom middle in front of the radiator on the left side.

a little over a year because my Ebay intercooler gave way , it pushed my bottom bumper peice down along with my lip and now my lip is in 3 peices on the 710 to the 91 merger.......

Well I've had if for a year. It' sholding up well. I painted it and it's scratched up but you can't tell.

There was no huge damage to it until recently when i had the car towed in my recent curb incedent. The front lip was dragging on the ground with the weight of the front of the car on it.

Oh well. It's still tits.

It was THAT tore up that I just ripped it off with my hands.
Wasn't much left of it.

Zenki s14 driving on mines for 7 years. Last 3 years the bumper is not even attached near the fenders cause it was low low. Yeah its stock with the lip. Drift it at tracks and having it super low around san jose sucks balls. owned the shit out of the biggest hub cap ive ever seen today. dragged it for about an eighth of a mile... destroyed a chunk of cinder block last week on the highway. frequently hit roadkill because i follow slow cars too closely. parking blocks like to jump out at me. ripped the bitch off 3 times backing over shit... the car isnt that low either.. i dont understand. actually sits lower now with smaller tires on it and different wheels. eurethane ftw! i know better than to get anything else. going to get an oe lip for my S14.

Well, the stock lip on my 93 is gone with the bumper, when my friend decided to hit a tree. the entire bumper cover + pop up lights + fender (passenger side) are going to be replaced.

You have one of my lips but not reppin it!!! It's fiberglass so it's always repairable. I've had my lip that I made for my S15 front for 5 years.

Shit I just got my s14, It had an afterr market bumper on it. But you can sooo tell the owner took it off and put in the zenki stock one. And its saggy as hell. I just put up some ziptieds and it holds sturdy.

my AIT bumper has lasted about six months now. although after hooking it on a rumble strip at the local track during a spin and pushing around hanging half off sanded a nice hole into it.

So which is the most durable lip? I'm guessing its the oem one? I have a s14 zenki, w/ stock ride height. I just need something to protect the fmic from daily driving and the bothersome autox cones. i thought maybe the greddy one was polyu and durable. i guess not. :(

OEM doesnt have the largest opening for FMIC though..
i know work9 has a polyuro bumper, or something like that, which is super flexible and resistant to cracking, but if i recall its a pretty penny, probly like 600 or so for the front bumper.

yeah thats what i assumed. i think most likely i'll just get the oem lip. usually i prefer more oem looks, but i like the greddy lip a lot too. its a shame its not as durable.

lol, $600 (plus paint & install) would be way too much for something I'd need to replace every now and then.

Front bumper held up fine until my brother borrowed the car and stuffed it into a 12" tall curb, spun it, and got it stuck up on a center divider. Messed up the front fenders, and tore the bumper off the car, but after all that, it held up pretty good:

I got rid of the kouki sides. I have jdm zenki aero ones now. I think it matches better with this setup.
