Well it's finally time to do the swap after a couple of months of collecting parts.
Dropped off my S13 Blacktop clip and 180sx rear end(LSD) at MotoRex last week and dropping my car off tomorrow.
Been trying to do as much as I can at one time so I've been collecting parts. MotoRex is doing the basic swap and the rest of the parts I'll put on in my garage once I get the car back and the swap is done.
This is what I've collected:
HKS Type S FMIC
HKS Wastgate Actuator Upgrade
HKS Racing Suction Kit
HKS BOV Kit
HKS Dual Dragger
HKS GT Extension Kit
HKS EVC IV
HKS Gauges
White Line Sway Bars
White Line bushings (still have to find some one to press them)
ACT Clutch
Z32 Fuel Pump
damn Down pipe i'm still waiting on.
Hopefully I can finish most of the install by the end of the weekend.

AHAH man the bumper paint is all faded, the fenders are dented, stock spoiler is hanging by 3 screws and the bumper is warped. I got the car cheap and it had a straight frame. 250k miles on the stock KA YEA BABY! No argument here that it was gonna be SR over a KA-T
After my last car I don't want to drive anything flashy, well at least for now, so i'm building this car to take out the cars I hate most....Camaro SS. It's actually pretty fun driving a total beater/sleeper. No cops look at you, no ricers rev on you going the opposite direction, and no one wants to steal your car.
I'll post pics of the motor once it's done.

understood.
so how much did all the stuff cost you and then motorex doing the install?they still dont have the smog legal sr swap correct?
also why go with a z32 pump is it new or used? did you just get a good price on it? an i hear you bout going sr over ka-t mine has around 140,000+ miles with man y annoying problems i just dont care to fix as long as its running for the time being.
keep us updated (well me at least) of the install and pics <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Been trying to keep the car real low budget. The Z32 pump came off a friends car. Used but for $100 so can't go wrong.
Basically everything and the cost of my car should still put me under 7k total.
Yea I don't see anything wrong witha KA-T but not when you have such high mileage like you and I.
Camp- What state are you in?

What did you do with your ka24de? I need one fully intact... so I am just wondering.

If you want it let me know. It's a 91 Twin cam, tranny, ecu and complete harness(i'm using my SR harness).
Make me any offer...the tranny isn't that great though but if you need everything for parts it's available to you if you are in So Cali, just pick it up.

Couple tips... The HKS Type S FMIC is a lot of work. You have to remove or cut the front bumper support, cut a hole where the battery tray is, relocate the battery or switch to a small one, relocate or remove wiper fluid reservior, move stock horns. When it's all done I hope it's worth it.
HKS Racing Suction replaces pipes from the turbo to the filter with polished aluminum pipes.
HKS Dual Dragger is heavy!
Also anyone who has a SR get the GT extension pipe(dump pipe). It separates the internal WG dump to allow better exhaust flow. This piece is NICE.

unforetunately im in chicago not in the state everyone hates <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>
i keep wanting to go ca but with all parts that i might want to update my car with in the next few years i want support so i keep leaning back to the sr plus i know the engine more than the ca.
why didnt you do the install yourself? so 7k with the install and parts?
hmmm with my susp i want, body work silvia front paint etc and engine i am suspecting my car to be near 15k
4 grand for susp components 3 k for engine and front
say 6-7k for body work hopefully les thats just a guestimate.
and 1k for misc items <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
do you have any susp mods done to your car so far? what about brakes? or are these coming up in the future?

It's actually 7k total....that is with what i paid for the car <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
I didn't have the time to do it myself though I spent all of today working on the car there too....So it's not like i'm totally just letting someone else do the work....but I don't have the total free time to work on it alone. After work tomorrow I'll go right back there to help on the car.
Suspension is just whatever right now. I have HKS Pillow Ball Mounts, HKS Springs and Tokico Blues, Cusco Strut bars....I have to install my Whiteline Sway bars and control arm bushings once i get the car back they are just sittin in my garage.
Should be pretty fun when i'm done.

Well found out today that the GT extension piece though very very functional does not fit right with a LHD car. Because there is a seperate dump tube for the WG with the extension pipe it hits...well sits on...the steering.
So now we have to pound the crap out of it to make clearance for the steering....not fun considering this is pretty thick stainless steel.

what exactly is the extension kit for? is it a downpipe? maybe it lowers the wastegates exhaust flow to an entry point lower on the downpipe??

rotaryknight,
I might need that harness, for some odd reason my harness in my 91 does not have a connector for the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), I have no idea why. I am getting ready to take the thing apart to try and find it. So if you wanted to get rid of it, just let me know.

basically the extension kit seperates the wastegate dump and the exhaust. The WG dump is rerouted via seperate pipe and rejoins the exhaust right before the flange. It basically allows for better exhaust flow.
BUT don't bother it doesn't fit without serious modification to the WG dump tube. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> damn steering!!!!!!!!
