uhm, hi, today i had bought a 91 240 le, and it needs all new interior, and it seems to be leaking, straight gas, and oil ( i have no clue where to check first), well the back right quarter panel has specs of rust, above the wheel well, and it has some under the spoiler that is now warped, so i need to remove the spoiler, and i want to know, what can i do to remove all the rust? i mean the easiest way. thanks

well osphro or jascos will kill the rust. then you have to decide how to go from there. i recommend cutting out the rusted sections and welding in new pieces of metal. kinda time consuming but its the best way. also SEARCH cause i remember a thread like this awhile back.

All fastbacks have rust on the hatch. The most cost effective way would be to sand down the hatch to bare metal and use a rust stripper. You can seal up the holes with some bondo and sand it smooth. Then primer it. Then wetsand it several times as you apply the colour coats. Then wetsand it several more times during your clearcoat application. Let it dry for several days and polish/wax. It should come out very close to a professional paint job.
Another way is to replace the hatch with a carbon fibre or fibreglass hatch. You will have to get a new hatch glass or lexan as well so you'll be looking at about $1,000 plus installation.
Also look under the trunk carpet for rust, and reseal the taillamps. Check the sticky thread in FAQs for that.
