I could be horribly missinformed, so pardon my ignorance if that's the case, but ATP is now offering divided housing T3 exhaust housings on a few GT30 series turbos. Now we just need to see some actual twin scroll manifolds made! Could this mean a whole new world of power and response?!

Nope doesn't mean anything. This was already done on the higher end garett turbos where there is a divider plate inside the compressor housing to reduce turbulence. I believe the S15 Spec R turbo has this and I think GT28RS models, but they've been available. And HKS and Greddy makes a divided turbo elbow to increase response. Old stuff....

He is talking about a divided turbine inlet not turbine outlet.

Nope, its a divided compressor or exhaust housing bro... Check their site before you say anything.

Slider duder, they are twin scroll turbos, tottally different then what you are talking about. The housing has two seperate a/r's so that way it can have top end punch with low end torque, in theory.
I would rather have the 3071r then the 30r if I was shooting for quicker spool. The 3071 comes with a .768a/r for the twin scroll which would be awfully fun on a 13b..

If that were true, then it would be two compressor fans to one turbine? In that case yes it would be true twin scrolls with two separate A/R's but the website only lists the traditional 1 A/R Turbos....

Huh? what are you talking about?

do you even know what Twinscroll is?

Its just a divided entry hotside. you run the cylinders that are opposed to each other in the firing order into one side and the other two opposed cylinders into the other. BAM, better exhaustflow and spool. Evos have it, that hillclimb S13 has it.

I think that would be prety cool if its actually a twin scroll.

OIC.... so a little different from a twin scroll super charger that everyone is talking about as well... hmmm interesting

You need to do better research

Wow.....
Here's mine, twin scroll Garrett T3 housing (and 3" vband outlet)
This one is NOT a GT30 though.

Isn't that new Tomei Expreme turbo manifold kinda a twin scroll style manifold?

I'd imagine that, that manifold coupled with the stock Evo 8/9 turbo or whatever else would be pretty cool.

It shouldn't be, its just a T2 flange... I don't even know how they justify non equal lenght runners.

quicker throttle response is how they justify it. Think about the extra time it takes to fill up that extra feet in tubes and then build pressure to spin the turbine

in an exhaust manifold? how long does it take to fill up a couple extra inches of exhaust manifold length?

Dunno, but there were some explanations as to why their design is the way it is in the Expreme group buy thread.

They have kept the cylinders to pairs, 1/4 and 2/3 for their exhaust pulses to keep the turbine spinning, and used short style runners to keep stock location and to keep up the response of the turbo spool.

I guess it's not technically twin scroll, but their theory of keeping the cylinders in pairs should still help keep the turbo's spool time up. Not exactly sure how much more responsive it is compared to like the SSAchrome style manifold though.

Practically no time at all....That is one reason how they justify it though
