I recently found out that my project car at some point before I owned it had gotten sugar in the gas tank and has ruined my gas tank and lines. So, does anyone know what size fittings or lines or whatever I need to know to buy some new fuel lines.
This really sucks as I was bout to start my SR for the first time this past weekend until I found this out. But luckily/unluckily it ruined my new fuel pump so it didnt send the bad mixture to my motor.

go cut a piece off - go to store and have them match it.

5/16" is correct. Also make sure you get the high-pressure (aka fuel injected) hose. They are like a couple bucks more expensive, but much better rated.

And from mythbusters - they busted that myth... but it's only relatively short term, so I guess long term damage is possible?

From annotated recap site:

Car capers

* Veggies/fruit in tailtipe can break the engine: busted
* 'Unauthorized' additives
o Drain clog remover: engine kept running. busted
o Bleach: car eventually cut out. The bleach also rusted up the gas tank. plausible
o Sugar: engine kept running. let the engine sit overnight and it still ran the next day. busted
* Bullets blowing up car: busted
* Hiding behind a car door will protect you from bullets: busted
* Cola in the radiator as coolant: plausible
* Cracking an egg into a radiator to plug holes: plausible
* Penny in carburetor destorying engine: busted
* Bleach in the engine oil: ?
