ok well no shit, i know mazworks sells the kit. but if you read there it says that the bell housing has to be machined, do you know what on the bell housing needs to be machined? do you know if you need anything other then what comes in the kit, do the sensor on my sr tranny work with the z32 or do i have to rewire my harness? or is the all inclusive kit. sorry, didnt mean to get anyones panties in a bunch, didnt know people could get so hostile on the internet haha, hate to see these people in the real world.

well I'm sorry I dont know the answer to your query, but im sure the folks at mazworks could assist you since they know pretty much a lot about their stuff, just dont sound too DIY they might not want to help since they want to SELL their kits, but 240 guys are usually pretty cool from my experiences.

ur best bet would be to call one of the compnies that offer the product and see what their z tranny swap offers and the process that they use to install it. if ur not looking for a z swap because its not plug and play. why not get an os geiken(srry on sapelling) gear set or a ppg. both will stand up 2 whatever u throw at it..

most of the guys who are flaming you know their shit and have looked into most every option avaliable. maybe making ur question more specific the next time or even pm someone running the product ur intrested in and asking their views and experiaces would be better. and steve shadows rock at 240's in general building and tuning so i wouldnt go picking a fight with a guy who will potentally help u later in the game. just a 4 warning

well thank you for an adult answer, fuck its hard to get one of those on these 240 forums. yeah i was thinking about a gear setup becasue i am sick of blowing these transmissionsbut a 300zx tranny sounds better just becasue it is made to put up with a v6 twin turbo.

well back to my question does anyone know anything about the process on how to put a 300zx tranny on a sr20? does anyone know of any shops on the west coast that does the same thing as mazworks? does anyone have a 300zx tranny on their car?

please if you have nothing else to add onto this thread don't act like a 10 year old and post bullshit.

oh and i don't see how someone like steve shadows could help me. It looks to me he needs to go back to 3rd grade.

These are very specific questions, but look at your original question.

People don't know what you're thinking if you don't tell them precisely what you want to know. Based on your original question, the only possible answer would be custom fabrication or the Mazworx kit.

As for your questions, you need to contact the vendor for proper support. No one here has this kit that I know of.

What machining has to be done? I'm a cheap 240 owner. Can I some how bodge it together with some zipties and duct tape? Maybe some sohc parts thrown in there for good measre? I can't spend $1000 on a mazworx kit. I could get some really "good" used megan coilovers and like 6 ebay turbos for that and I only make 5.50/hr at my job at sonic so it'd take me like a billion years to save for it anyway.

Contact Xcessive Motorsports and bug them about it, they're in Salem, OR. Here are the related info http://www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19872&highlight=z32+trans
. I have no ideas how much that whole setup will cost in comparison to the Mazwork's, but I think the process will involves an adaptor plate instead of a machined housing.

Note: I think that it fucking lame how they edited/deleted Mazwork's respond in the thread.

if i can recall right i talked to enjuku this weekend at formula d they had run the 300z tranny in their drift cars but switched back to the stock tranny due to time of replacement. i think they said it took them 20 min to pull a s13 and roughly 45 minutes to pull a z tranny off completely. i want to say they will be running ppg or some straight cut gears 1-3 and double syncr 4,5 gear set. dont quote me on that. pm them or call them and see what they say. im pretty sure one of their customers have used a similar setup.

i think a few companies are putting the 350z 6 speed trannies on sr/ka as well. or are in the process of doing so.

the funny thing is if you know where to look you can get rebuild the tranny or find a good racing gear shop to help you out for close to or maybe a little over the price of the mazworx kit and the z32 box and you still have your stock sized tranny and pull time is the same etc....

I dunno I might just put my money towards a racing gear box when the time comes maybe even a 600000000dollar os giken...

very good info to know man. can u think of any shops that offer "racing gears" or upgrades other than ppg/os giken? always good info to have in the grey matter up top
