Why is this forum so slow to open and surf thru in comparisson to other forums and web sites..??
It reminds me of dial up service...

Its not my computer cause i have 8 meg downloads and this site is the ONLY site that opens like dial up, i kid u not..!!

I second that. After becoming premie you get the whole cheese. Oh the fun we have in premie land supasses all the rest of the sections. After getting premie load times went from 56k to 100mbs. You get what you pay for. You arent really doing anything so ehhhh

Going back to the subject of the thread, it's noticably slower for me also. I have Cable modem in a very fast neighborhood. All websites load very quickly except this one (especially during peak hours).


It's very tolerable, but you can definately feel the load on the server. I will definately donate soon.

On Topic. I have a 6mb connection and the initial load is kinda slow for me, but i just load the forums instead of the homepage. Its now a problem for me doing that. If you would like to see more imporvements donate buy either buying stickers or becoming a premie. Every $ counts. You havent posted, but im sure you are still reading things that answer some of your questions. This is one of the BEST forums for s14/13s. I dont see whats the big deal with $10 anyways, its worth it.

I just have the forum link bookmarked and it's much faster that way.

The forum IS slow, just not all the time.

it's generally during peak times because the servers can't handle the load/don't have enough bandwidth/both.

It was way worse a few months ago, but recently it's improved substantially.

But it still lags from time to time, which is to be expected.

Did you ever try my suggestion? It helped me out imensly. Before I did that it was slow as shit, but now, Its perfectly fine for me... just that same as any other website/forum/pr0n/etc...

As for the server and some of the past performance problems, we realize the server hardware is now 3 years old and we are developing a plan to upgrade, but since we are not idendependantly weathly, we must save up the funds in order to purchase a new server system.
