my friend and I were working on putting the 5 speed in and we forgot to put lube on the input shaft splines. The tranny is now in the car and we really don't want to take it out again. What do u guys think? biggee or no?

Did you clean them in a way to remove any traces of grease from them?
If not, no biggie, if yes, test to see if the clutch disk slides smooth and disengages.

your in put shaft is fine. If you have the tranny in, don't sweat it. It will not mess with anything, once the input shaft is in it doesn't slide in or out.

But the clutch disk slides on the input shaft splines

Needs to slide smoothly, also overgreasing it can cause problems with all that grease contaminating the disk/pressure plate

you got it , once it's in it doesn't move in or out any more, the lube is for the install like you said.
