There have been "show pics of 2-tone's" threads in the past, but this is a little different. This is going to be a registry of all known factory two-tones on Zilvia, with a little information on them. This is an attempt to find out how many of these beauties have survived, made their way into the hands of enthusiets, and still proudly sport their factory two-tone color-scheme.
So, if you have a two-tone, and think repainting it a different color should be a crime, lol, then post up the following info and a pic for induction into "the Two-tone Preservation Society"
I will try to keep track of the number of specific two-tones on zilvia.

So it looks like '90 two-tones are very rare, as well as two-tones with spoilers.
I've seen a yellow two-tone with a spoiler before however, so they do exist.

Background: Technically, my brother is the 3rd owner, but the 2nd owner received it from his father (whom bought it new in 1988). The car was swapped to an SR20DET sometime in 1997 or 1998 (one of the first to be swapped in Florida), and had the crazy harness to prove it. My brother bought it with a blown turbo in mid 2004, converted the interior to black, redid the harnesses, added alot more bolt-ons, silvia front end. After a slew of random gremlins and general unreliability, my brother bought a Scion, and this car is currently parted out, and awaits someone with $300 to come give it a new home (i want to, but i already have a money pit of an S14).

I love two-tones!! But I have a fastback. I guess I love the old school look all together. Anyway, has anyone ever seen a two-tone convertible? Obviously it would have had to been repainted and the chuki front bumper wouldn't work but I think it would look awesome or maybe not. I dunno.

there is a girl in tampa that has the blue-silverish two tone over gray, she has an sr in it and silvia face, kept the 2 tone. her car rocks so hard. ill see if i can find some numbers on it for the OP, i know its an 89 with no sunroof, it might have had HUD though.

theres also a minty 2 tone at my school that a female professor drives. its auto, and i looked and it has under 100k miles. ive thought on numerous occasions to ask if she'll sell it. it HAS to have been garaged.

I used to have one

it had hud but no digital cluster
in Ontario, Canada

I had to put her down, Canadian winters ate her alive before I got her. The car was rotten, driver side rail was done, and all the panels were rusting, it had an sr in it for a long time. I took the sr out and the car is probably a cube now :cry:

if you repaint it the original two-tone colors...thats fine. Your only trying to perserve the two-tone! The creator of this thread has obvioulsy had a repaint or at least had to paint all the aero/widebody stuff.

I use to work for a repare shop, and my boss let me use his booth, and i did it with the help of him.

And the foglights are made by some company named RALLYE. Bright as fuck, and they work unlike them ricer ass piss yellow lights that causes more glare then vision imporvements.

Maby it looks like a fastback cause the angle + 4x4 ridehight? haha I could lower it with sportlines but i refuse to run stock shocks!!

BTW, im in the process of redoing the black pinstripe, how did you guys do it? Just paint over it or actualy used pinstripe?

History... bought the car back in January some some guy in Sherman Oaks for 1500 bucks. Little rust, paint needed some lovin', ran alright. Seemed good at the time, but it quickly started having problems. Overheating, burning oil, etc. Whatever.
Only mods as of right now are Espelir ASD springs and a relocated front plate.
Mods as of next week: Twin cam, 5 speed, R33 GTS rear end (vlsd), RSR springs with KYB AGX's, Zenki lip, Q45 front brakes, and a black interior. (Already have the parts, just waiting on a hoist).
In a couple months, I'll be fixing the rust, getting a new rear bumper (crappy exhaust fried it), and I'm gonna do my best to talk my buddy Rich (same guy that painted Yuri's car) into repainting it. lol...

A guy picked this up not too long ago here in the UK. AFAIK it is completly standard including the paint. This is the second one with two-tone that I've seen here so far, both with the green/gray color scheme.

^Yeah, the 2tone fastbacks were only released in the UK.

But the weird thing is, ive seen a all stock look to be factory 2tone fastback up here in seattle. A friend of mine used to own it.

It just looks weird imo, the 2tone looks better on the coupe cause it makes it look longer and lower. The fastback...is still a fastback =]

the window motor in my car has gone out twice, what i did when i replaced it the last time was lube up my mechanism cuz it was all dry and now it rolls up faster and smoother then my passenger. i got a used motor for 20-30 bucks just look around.

the two tone fastback in the picture looks ok, but when a guy painted the two tone himself it didnt look so hot, maybe it was the color scheme but it doesnt look right on the fastback. i personally love the green/grey blue/grey two tone coupes theyre better looking to me stock then any modified 240 ive seen out there. like yuri's car with those wheels looks assam.

and spending money on your car is your hobbie, its supposed to relax you. if its stressing you out putting money in your car then yes you shouldnt do it. but honestly if i didnt have my car i would have killed myself already.

i love two tone coupes. i cant wait to paint the top of my car the stock green color.
does anyone have suggestions or information on how much it would cost to buy the factory paint and in the two tone color because it looks different colors from different angles is that more of a process to paint it on or is that the paint itself. cuz im trying to keep my car budgeted but i have to have that color.

At the one on Beach in Stanton? I saw that one. That rear quarter dent is nothing. Its not even creased, so its an easy pop out. You should buy it (if they're willing to sell shells).

yeah, I tried cleaning and regreasing the tracks. Tested it, and it still wouldn't go up. Popped the cover off the gear box and found that all of the gears are about half as tall as they should be, so now I'm trying to find a motor. Missed a cheap one on Ebay when I was out of town, I'll get one this week.

Its the one a few blocks north of the stanton one, the one in Anaheim. The s14 is base though and was thoroughly raped already.

coupes are also lighter then hatches :D 100 pounds lighter on a full loaded S13 coupe and the S13 hatch is much heavier :p

coupes are also lighter then hatches :D 100 pounds lighter on a full loaded S13 coupe and the S13 hatch is much heavier :p

it's definately not OEM. Two-tone was a coupe only thing. Paint looks nice, but a two-tone fastback just doesn't work IMO. To me it just doesn't flow well with the cruves of the rear windows as compared to the couple.. just my opinion though :)

Two tones are my favorite by far. My coupe is champagne originally until it was painted black by the previous owner.
I wonder what a DARK cherry and dark grey would look like?
