i'm removing driveshaft for the first time, at the diff. s14/abs/5sp
they are on reallllly tight, i rounded one using a 14mm wrench/pipe
can't get a socket on,or crows foot
so i'm trying to find these wrenches, they grab three faces of the nut/bolt head unlike like regular wrenches.
been looking online forever. sears, google etc and cant find it.
does anyone know where i can get one? 14mm!!! attatched is a pic of what i'm talking about.

lol, you're talking about crescent flare nut wrenches. Sears has it. Also you should be able to take it off with a combination wrench. First off buy some pb blaster at your Auto store. let it soak for a couple hours and then go at it. If that one bolt is stripped good, just take a hacksaw to it.

no im not talking about flare wrenches, the wrenches i'm talking about grab 3 side faces of the nut rather than just 2.
and it's been soaking in pb. still wont budge, and its not stripped i just rounded the two edges of the nuts.
someone please tell me where i can order one

yea those are a bitch to get off...i actually had an extra 14mm wrench sitting around and ground the top of the box end down so it would fit in the tight space next to the dif...the box end does wonders.
next if you can, use a pry bar on the driveshaft to keep it from moving. the movement in the driveshaft is the main reason you probably can't get them off.
once you got the pry bar in there...have someone help you on the other side with a pipe wrench and you on the 14mm end pulling in opposite directions...
it should come loose.

i've never seen a 3 pronged open ended wrench before.
i used vice grip, and a regular adjustable wrench. hmmm... maybe try lighting up the bolt with a propane torch a bit too?
if its rounded off, you can use a metal file and file the bolt until you get two flat edges to grab on to.

haha sorry, your picture sucks. Sears has those 3 point ones you're talking about... for ease without ratcheting, it does catch at 3 sides, but it doesn't work that great. I'd go with flare nut wrenches over the ones you're talking about. You do know what it is right? It grabs all the edges but has a opening gap for using around brake lines, fuel lines, etc. I dunno. All i know is my driveshaft bolts come off whenever.
spray some more pb and let it soak over night.

Never had to use anything but a box end wrench. Depending on the quality of your tools they may have a taller head and won't fit between the flanges. Grind it down a little and then use it. Link another wrench to it if you need more leverage.

Agreed.
Normal wrenches works for me, and if i needed the extra umph, flare ended wrenches, and the round-ended leverage trick. If not, call Jonnie Fraz.

^+1. This is the exact reason I have a 14mm box wrech with an extra long handle in my toolcase.
That first time is always the hardest. You gotta lube her up well, let her soak, and impose you will. Once you bust the nuts, all subsequent times will be a breeze.

But then you're spending more money that needed with 2 14mm open ended wrenches, and if needed, a flarenut.

Pulling the e-brake works too. ;]
Definitely agree with everyone else, a normal open ended box wrench should do it.

i'm telling you this will work...grind down a box end so it fits in back attach another wrench to it for leaverage or get a pipe on the end...have someone else use a pipe wrench around the driveshaft...pull ebrake...and you and your friend pull in different directions
if this doesn't work ... pray to the s14 gods and then try an hour later

No. A 14mm wrench and then any larger size to leverage it. I use a 17mm if needed.

did your way sean350z but still wont budge, the 14mm stripped the nut a bit everytime we push it hard. Guess I gotta dremel it out. Anyone know where I can buy strong nuts and bolts to replace them other than a dealership???

that sucks. did you spray any lubricant or pb on the nut? oh, and good tools are a must.
so this site is gay for not letting me see the pic to help you out.
but anyways. I found i ALWAYS us a 14mm wrench, open end (NOT a pip wrench) use a small rubber mallet and give it a few good smacks. It'll come off (btw i have an s13 abs ;) )

14mm combo wrench. Closed side. Craftsman. Never had problems. SHit, that driveshaft has been off... 5-6 times.
I'm having trouble getting mine off on my S13. So I started cutting the damn, bolts.

Snap-on flank drive combination wrench, Guaranteed to get that nut off. That flank drive is a godsend when the only wrench you can fit is an open end
