antifreeze flowing problem

When the antifreeze flows through the engine. Is it suppose to be cold by the thermostat and hot in the upper radiator hose while running ??

Yes. Coolant goes into the engine via the thermostat housing. Then it comes back to the radiator via the upper radiator hose. The radiator cools the coolant and sends it back to the engine.
