Im in the process of overhauling the calipers and the inner portion of the piston the part that is visible once you remove the brake pads is rusted.

My question is sould the rust be removed and the pistons will operate fine of should I buy new pistons?

I havent seen pistons listed in any nissan parts guide. Or is it included in the overhaul kit.. Also how do you remove the pistons?

Thanks.

If they aren't too badly rusted out you can clean 'em up and re-use them no problem. Take off the rust with some brake fluid and a brass wire brush, clean them and you are good to go.

If after taking the rust off you find they are heavily pitted I'd sugest replacing them, otherwise you should be good.

I burred the edges that were rusted and they smoothed out fine but the bottom of the piston I cant reach with the dremel.

if your talking about the part of the piston that touches the brake pad you wil be good. one of my rear calipers was totaly seezed up with rust and i was still able to get enough rust off for it to work and not leak. so im sure you will be fine as long as your seals dont get cut.
