Am about to pull the KA from my '95 SE that Im parting out. Its been sitting around for a while, but finally got some time to work on it again.
Anyways, whats the best way to pull out the engine? Ive heard of two ways and was lookin for which would be best. Should I pull the engine and tranny out together as one unit, or separate them and drop the tranny down and pull out the engine?
Oh, and let me know if anyones interested in buying it. Itd be great if you want an engine to try puttin a turbo on, its only got 36k miles on it.
Thanks,
Greg

We found no problem pulling both at once. Get the chain more toward the front (the tranny doesn't weigh as much as you'd think).

Tthanks for the advice HippoSleek.
Its the original 36k miles on the Tranny and the Engine. The clutch is an ACT street clutch w/ 1k miles on it; Ill pull that out too while Im at it.
I'd like to sell the engine as a whole rather than in parts. Not sure about pricing for it, hows $400 + shipping??

Tranny and engine should come out together fairly easily. (as easy as a motor and tranny come out) Just remember to remove the Tranny brace.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Lots of grunts, and wiggling, and she'll come out.

Yeah, it came out easily with the engine in tranny together, but REMEMBER TO REMOVE THE RADIATOR. If you want if after the swap, you HAVE to remove it - mine got cracked in the process. It looks like you have room, but you really don't.

That shouldnt be a problem, ill Probably just cut off the front with a torch or sawzall since theres nothing left of use there anyways. Stripped just about everything else out of the engine compartment already.

The car is located in Troy, NY. If anyone is close to there, it would be a #### of a lot easier to pick these up than to ship them.
gh6o6 - As for the tranny, hows $550 for the tranny and all the parts including the ACT clutch???
I already sold the antenna, sorry.
