I am getting a SR20 swap very soon and am facing a dilemma. I can either buy just the egine and tranny etc. for the swap and have to get the after market intercooler and other parts OR I can get the front clip and use the JDM intercooler and parts! Engine(non clip) costs around 1700 maybe little less and Clip costs 2400 maybe a little more. Which one sounds better to go with/ cost efficient.

I suggest the clip since it will make the swap a lot easier.  You still need the ECU, side mount(unless you are buying a FMIC right off the bat), AC components, radiator etc.

Front clip all the way, even if you plan on upgrading the FMIC and other stuff you can always resell the parts that come of the car. Plust as posted above it makes the swap much easier, you might not save at all or break even but its a lot less of a hassle.

Alright thanks guys. YOu have brought me to my senses! Obviously Clip is much better nad maybe even more cost effective.

I would agree with the above posts.  If you were looking down the road to upgrade the intercooler and the injectors and such, it would make more sense to buy those items now, but then you have to buy those other necessities anyway. Front clip is probably still more sensible. just my opinion.

hey kyolo you can take a loot at jspecauto.com for their pricing usually labor can costs from 800-1000 (US) depending on your car model etc. I personally am going to do a s13 engine swap.

Well the side mount isn't good for much boost really. Personally I don't think the clip is all that great compared to a complete engine with ecu harness, MAFS included. Depends though. If you are content with the side mount and 2.5 inch DP it works well.
