Hey Im waiting to buy a usdm ac assembly with all lines, compressor and all other things needed for it to run. Ive heard that the usdm can bolt on to a redtop but only use 3 out of 4 bolts. Can anybody verify this? Send me what you got and also let me know if this setup will work on a redtop.

Thanks,
Will

I don't know if it will work on an s13 sr, but I have an s14 compressor, condensor, lines and belt. According to the HT swap guide any dual cam compressor will work, so I think the whole system will, but the research is up to you. PM me an offer if you are interested.

I have never been able to get 3 to bolt up; only 2. I have fabbed a bracket and that was a real pain, plus you have alignment issues if you aren't precise. A much better solution and probably more dependable in the long run is using the SR compressor. The KA compressor discharge line is interchangeable, meaning you only have to have the suction line made up. It is easy to cut the suction/low pressure piping from the SR compressor and have an adapter hose made to reconnect to the suction supply line that returns from the evaporator (inside the car). I have done several both ways and the SR compressor/KA piping combo is much easier and is still performing well, even with the conversion to R134A.

I read on freshalloy that you can use the ka compressor but have to change out the clutch to a pathfinder from 95 or 96 and that it would run allright. I know you would have to bend the lines a little but woud it be safe to only run the two bolts?
